The 51st State-Will we have poutine at Thanksgiving?

If Canada ever did break up, Quebec can become a colony of France again & join up with the French enclaves of St. Pierre and Miquelon.

The Atlantic provinces should integrate well into the NE US states.

IMO, Ontario is like NY and MN but @belladonna would have a better read on that. But if Ontario wanted to go independent then at least they'd have beach-front property on Hudson Bay, Lake Erie & Lake Ontario. :sneaky:

The Prairie Provinces would integrate with the northern US states very well due to commonalities.

Not sure about BC since it seems to be sort of like WA and OR with leftist coastal areas with a more conservative interior?

But again, @belladonna would have a better read on that.

About 50 years ago, I read a sci-fi story about the U.S. opening up its borders/immigration/states/other nations to everyone in the world so we could truly have a global economy, world wide government, etc. Don't remember much about the plot, but I am sure djt would luv it, with him at it's head of it all.

You are pretty spot on, except that the French can’t stand Quebecois, so Quebec would have to twist in the wind all by themselves. 😁

"French can’t stand Quebecois". that's interesting. i never knew that.
Quebec French, or Quebecois, is viewed as mostly slang peppered with English and the French people (those I met in France) feel that their language has been bastardized (I hope that word is okay because I can’t think of any better one) by Canadians. This is what I was told when I was overseas 30 some odd years ago.
