Not my point at all Hans. It's just an observation. There are some in our society that think if they make it hard enough folks just wouldn't do it. Banning certain firearms is not going to make them go away. Background checks before little Jimmy takes ownership of his new .22lr from his father is big government run amok. All Congress agreed to the law as it stands. They agreed to the Brady background check standards (3days)yet now it is a problem. If we gave them 7 days it would still be a problem if the check hasn't cleared and the buyer walked out with said firearm after the failed 7 day check.
That's all I'm saying.
In Illinois now in order to have an FFL not only do you have to abide by ATF (which should be the only one). We basically now have an Illinois (ATF) that dealers must be licensed from and they also must get all up in your business. They are much more stringent. It's duplicity ridiculousness. Even if the ATF gives you a license the Illinois bureau of whatever they want to call it can fail you and you can't be open.
many of the smaller dealers have went out of business because they can't afford the amount of stuff that Illinois puts on them to be able to be a firearms dealer. And basically that was exactly what Illinois wanted.
