THE COMBAT MAGNUM

Ok, after seeing all these fine looking S&W revolvers, I want to go out and buy me another revolver as if I needed one, great pics of your guys guns!
Since most of the young guys and gals are only interested plastic and striker-fired it isn't too hard to find decent classical revolvers these days. I'd start with Guns for Sale at GunsInternational.com and see what's available.

Aww, go ahead, go out and get another one. Advice from your local Revolvers Anonymous chapter
EVERYONE needs another revolver.

EVERYONE.

There's just something about wheelguns. No matter how many rational arguments there are against them in the age of hi-cap semi-autos, the lure of the wheelgun just won't die.

I actually just registered for the "Pat Rogers Memorial Revolver Round-Up" at Gunsite this year. Good training opportunities with experienced wheelmen are getting harder to come by, and this one seems like a gathering of some of the best still in the business - Daryl Bolke, Chuck Haggard, Greg Ellefritz, wayne Dobbs, etc.

Ok, if would do that in a heartbeat…next year, perhaps…

My 28-2 and I would be totally in.

I had planned to do it last year, registered and everything, and then ended up having to cancel. They were really cool about keeping my deposit on file for a future course, and I just decided I need to prioritize it this year and commit.

Here's a good AAR from last years event:

Mine is almost a real one.

How are the seals on it? I have six or seven of those, both calibers and both barrel lengths, but only one--a 6" .22--held gas last time I tried (a few months ago). I need to get them overhauled, or figger out how to do it myself.
Mine leaks also, I am looking at a rebuild video now.
Looks pretty easy just need to find a rebuild kit.
I found a guy online that will rebuild it for me, if I find it I'll pm the info to you.

I think rebuild kits are available on eBay, among other places.

I'm a little gun-shy (pun intended) about taking one apart. When I got my first one, back in the '70s, I took it apart to smooth the action and found it MUCH harder to put back together than a real S&W or Colt DA revolver! Maybe it's not as bad as I remember.

If I ever DO get one apart, I'm gonna use a Dremel with a stone to knock the razor-sharp edges off the face of the trigger. I've never liked the way the triggers felt on these things. Might even try fitting a trigger shoe of some sort, or maybe building up the width a little with something like J-B Weld. I think the Crosman 38 guns have a lot of potential, if some of their annoying problems can be fixed.

I still have the M19 I used in the Police Academy. We shot a lot of 38 Spec. wadcutters.
I bought because I read Bill Jordan's "No Second Place Winner."
My father carried one as a deputy sheriff. One of the first in 1956, Flint Michigan.
