So, the mister managed to shock the everloving out of me this morning. He said that I had better get my butt in gear, we’re going for a road trip. Seems he got in touch with my best friend in Manitoba and arranged for us to go for a visit this weekend.

It’s been way too long since we’ve been up there…since before we got our carry permits. That being said, I’m feeling so naked…. Everything I have ever read about carrying in Canada has been “don’t risk it”. They can confiscate your firearm at the border at their discretion, and good luck getting it back.

So naked we go to the Great White North. We’re just going to be hanging with them at their (very) rural home watching the deer and other critters. Far enough from Winnipeg that I’m too worried.

Thanks guys. He knows how stressed I’ve been lately…trying to sell my mom’s house in San Antonio, dealing with her dementia, all long distance. And that’s just for starters. Anyway, I have the tendency to hunker down and embrace my inner hermit, so this is probably just what I need to break all that up.
