The Ranch is getting out of hand.

I've eaten a bunch of BBQ racoon. You have to change the water about 4 times then it is good. Besides , I haven't seen anything a hog wouldn't eat.
I know that's right about hogs eating about anything .... I've seen them crawling around inside a dead and rotting cow and eating their fill. It's a funny sight since you know that cow is dead, but the hide is moving, the legs are kicking, and the whole thing is sorta' rolling back n forth.

And I never tried BBQ'd racoon, never had the opportunity nor the desire. The only time I tried it was to put a fresh killed leg on a stick and roast it over an open fire. The situation was that I had no pots to boil anything in at the time. And I'm pretty sure even some really thick BBQ sauce wouldn't have helped that leg !!! :(

Watch out guys Racoons like to get even with people that eat them.

For those that have no idea why use a swamp buggy in the woods. First you can see over the bushes and its high enough to reach the top of the feeder to load them up. I have a few feeders that hold 500lb of corn, 10 bags. Also keep does boar from running out of the bushes to latch on to your arm. This is my youngest son on Wild thing

I had a boar charge my 4 wheeler and bounce of the front bumper bar with a pretty solid hit. Not much a hog fears if they are worked up enough or pissed off. He died after I shot him, but to see hog charge a machine is a wild sight.

Russian hog for sure. Not many around here with that long noise. The Reds are IMO the best tasting meat, its sweet almost like honey taste and very soft meat. Those are the only one that I eat from the ranch.

Smaller Sows only for us go to table. Big sows and all boars around here taste like garbage, even if you brine/marinate. We drag off any boar and any sow over 50 lbs
