This edition will investigate a couple of reasons why I think cartridges like .17HMR, .22WMR, and others have never really quite taken off like .22LR has.

I like. 22 WMR it is my go to coyote round. Very effective and rather quiet inside. My fav place is the old hayloft of my cousins old barn with a nice old gel hospital bed mat folded over to lay prone on. Only problem is on my old age it can be too comfy and I need take a nap lol.

.22LR does what it needs to do for most people and does so for a lot less money. That is probably the biggest driver.
I thought about getting something in 22 wmr until i saw how much it would cost to feed it. I wasn’t going to pay that much to poke holes in paper. That said… I would still like a something in .22 wmr 😁.
 
Three words “Ammo’s Too Expensive”. Price it close to LR and they’d sell by the ton. When you’re pushing centerfire prices…..
