There can be only one!

7.8 pounds- 7 shot magazine- $2149....
What choke is installed in that gun? They showed a very small birdshot pattern from 10 yards. Can it shoot slugs without wear and tear through that choke?
My Mossberg 590A1 (or whatever it is) weighs less, costs $1300 less, is reliable, easy to strip and clean and I can unload it every bit as fast as that fellow was triggering off the auto loader. Maybe a little more effort to keep it on target but I never shot anything that took 7 rounds to kill.
Oh, and it holds 8 rounds up the tube. Has a heavy barrel for breachin' and whompin', too. Parkerized, ghost ring and front post, nasty looking devil. Picatinny rails all over it.
From here the Bennelli looks a little over priced. But y'all with the cash, go for it!

Well, as a guy who has been training with shotguns, (mostly Mossberg 500s) literally for decades I can assure you that you cannot empty your Mossberg or ANY pump gun as fast as I can empty an M4 or a Beretta 1301. And certainly not while hitting your target.
The M4 handles slugs just fine. Any Cylinder or Improved Cylinder choke is perfectly fine for slugs. Your Mossberg ( And I am not picking on your choice of shotgun brother, I have an 8 round Mossberg 500 next to my bed at all times) is also going to hit a LOT harder with those slugs or buckshot making getting back down on target and firing another round significantly slower than an M4.

The M4 is a little heavy, but that does help with recoil so it's kind of a wash. My 1301 T on the other hand is lighter than a 500 or a 590, holds 9 rounds in it and 7 rounds on it currently and is significantly faster handling and firing.

Certainly the price difference is not insignificant and I personally agree with you that the M4 is overpriced, but there is little doubt it is at a minimum and by anyone who is rational's opinion, one of the 2 best SD shotguns ever produced. It's hard to put a price on your ability to defend yourself, but the fact that there are perfectly serviceable defensive shotguns in multiple price ranges is a good thing.

In my opinion, the 1301 Tactical is by a long shot the best shotgun I have ever owned and trained with. We're going to find out if I change that sentence to " The M4 is by a long shot the best shotgun I have ever owned and trained with" in the very near future. I am not one of "Y'all with the cash", but that never stopped me before and I'm not going to let it stop me now. :)

I'm not saying I'm the fastest in the world, I said I can unload as fast as that guy in the video posted above. Easily.
For $2100 it better be pretty dern good. Just sayin.

I dunno pal. My brother and I used to play around emptying pump guns just for speed, extremely quickly. Year after year after decade. You should see the clearing we blew through the tree foliage on New Years, lit up by the flashes. We were fast. He has passed away, I still am.
You are probably right about staying on target, but really what is the point of shooting that fast in the first place?
We did it for a game. In a real situation I doubt it would be necessary.
The 590A1 is no light weight itself, so recoil doesn't bother me whatsoever.
This is why some spring for an auto and some don't.
To each his own.
Believe me, I am not trying to change your opinion of what you like. Everything ain't for everybody.

I'm also not going to get into a pissing match over who can run a pump faster. I will point out though that when I say I have been training with shotguns for decades I am not talking about anything resembling casually. I've had 12 and 20 gauge reloaders since I was in grade school and I go through tens of thousands of shells a year. Anyway, I digress.

I can tell you that even if you're slam firing an Ithaca 37 or a Winchester 97 or Winchester 12 I promise you that you can't fire it as fast as I can fire a 1301.

Yeah, it's stupid arguing back and forth. I never shot thousands of shells a year. Many hundreds, and not always for speed. We busted claybirds with riot guns. Stupid I guess. You had to get on em quick with no choke.
Yeah, but it's fun and challenging. I shot a lot of skeet with the old 18.5" 500 myself. I haven't shot skeet seriously in quite awhile. A couple months ago I went to the club with a buddy and shot skeet and trap with my KSG. :p
