Why would anyone do this?

Hi,

Um, wait, what? Why would you want to cripple your firearm? This seems way too inconvenient to use on an EDC. I suppose you could use this to lock up all your  other guns when the grandkids came over. I think a single locking metal gun cabinet would be more cost effective than buying one of these for every one of your pistols. I don't get it. But then, I'm just the bass player.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

if you need to get to your gun super quick and defend your life, how much time do you have..????

anyone got the time to mess around with a key, remove the device, insert a real mag and commence firing.>???

i know i don't.

Nope, you missed the whole point.

They may or may not understand how guns work but they definitely understand how people work and they know that there are a whole bunch of stupid people in the world that will buy this.

I didn't miss that point at all, and I'm well aware of it. It depends on whether you are interpreting the OP's question to apply to the manufacturer, or the end user. I was responding to the question as it applies to the latter. You're responding to it as it applies to the former.

No thanks. I have a "Hillary hole" on my S&W 638 Bodyguard and that's never been used. (I'm in a rowdy mood today, the idea of Hillary's hole makes me want to hurl...:))

As it's been said many times before, "The best gun safety you own is between your ears."...:)
