this is the biggest BS and in Montana no less...!!

If I recall correctly this is nothing new, for some time now the same “gun-free zone” rule applies even when driving past a school or park with a firearm on board….IF the local pd wants, needs, or is ordered to enforce the broad home-rule ordinance.

hmmm judge is wrong
at least in texas. you can park in a school lot and lock your firearm up in car and go to the school.
i am curious how they say living across street on PRIVATE property is in violation of school zone gun free stuff
her it was ruled parking areas are not part of the school in so many words
roads are public and not part of the school grounds
there has to be MORE to this story than what the little lady was touting
interesting to get all the details from both sides for sure

in Liberty Doll's video, she said that the neighbor of this guy had made threats towards his mother, and he was "protecting" his property, and the police stay away from that neighbor,,,,,,,,,,,,,yet, no mention of the neighbor in this article.

then there is this..

Why did the local Billings PD hand this matter over to the Fed?
Are MT gun cases now a matter for Fed notification, did some gun grabber DA drop the dime?
We know the Fed is now handpicking prosecution for The Party at every opportunity these days.

Funny how that works….a local can get sandbagged federally In Montana but PD’s are forbidden from cooperating in any way or manner (detainers, questioning immigration status) when it comes to illegal aliens - even those committing vicious acts with guns.

Unless prohibited by a "state" preemption law a municipality can pass a gun-free ordnance with certain criteria within its boundaries, however misguided by political ideology.

Several cities in MT are run by the Dems, and when they step over the state preemption line they get slapped down. But some have passed gun-free ordnances that have a distance variable, and resulted in several gun shows being shut down, and/or moved.

There's no such prohibition of keeping a firearm within a home, in a city, but if you step outside and wave a gun around you'll get attention.

If you are carrying a firearm around across from a school nowadays you are going to get a police response. With all the school shootings unless you were living under a rock you would have to expect to get LE notice.

I understand parents and neighbors' alarm. There were multiple responses by police to his house, where they asked him to put the gun away so as to not cause fear. A reasonable person would understand the cause for alarm and stop parading around with the gun. But he was defiant. I suspect he behaved like an Adam Henry and got treated like an Adam Henry in the end when the feds got involved. I doubt any conviction would withstand a constitutional challenge, but it is the letter of the law. I am interested in how this one turns out in the courts.

My first thought as well. Walking around with a gun and screaming and acting like an idiot you should expect some blowback. In close proximity to a school, you’re just asking for it. The guy is either mentally challenged or just a Richard Cranium.

A lot of people don't realize that the same people that destroyed California have now moved and are now moving to Montana and Wyoming and Idaho and Texas and are very likely to ruin them as well.

When I moved to Colorado in 1992 we had good gun laws, we were a solid red state, we weren't hugely overpopulated and then all the people from California moved here and look what happened to us.

The same thing is happen in New Mexico and in Arizona.
