This kind of political stuff should be illegal!!

And the left will paint his "accomplishments" as all peaches n cream. The reality is, he's increased taxes by demanding county assessors artificially increase property values by 10%. The county has my property over valued by about 50k. That gives him the ability to raise taxes without raising taxes. It's all a shell game. I hope to God that the American people see this fat b@stard for what he is if they're gonna run him against Vance. With him, there will be no law and order, the constitution will be an inconvenience and he will declare himself king. The guy is an authoritarian pr!ck. He ran this state into the ground and COVID didn't help, not one bit. Mom n pop shops across the state couldn't survive the mandated lockdowns, and our children were robbed of education (also due to teachers unions) This SOB absolutely must be stopped at the soapbox, if not the ballot box. Our country won't survive under an administration of his. Hell, his family ain't even keen on him. Few people remember, he had toilets removed from his mansion so he could duck out on taxes. He's scum, lower than scum. Tell your friends, tell your family, anyone who will listen. Do not let this fat piece of %$#@ anywhere near the whitehouse

I think it's another example of democrats living in a bubble and not understanding what's going on around them. A populist president is elected by a large margin. With so much ammo to use against him it isn't funny. 37 convicted felonies and all the other baggage. Dude is still elected in a far from close race and republicans take the house and senate. So what do dems do ? Double down. It's a brilliant strategy as long as you never want to win another national election.

I think the odds of a Pritzker or Newsum winning the white house are about as good as Biden's or Harris's were.

No chance Pricksger wins an election outside of Chicago.

I am a glass half empty person when it comes to politics and politicians. Until someone who has the money and power the politicos suckle, has the same wants as me, I will always be on the outside. I still vote in every election but never seem to be satisfied even when the person I voted for wins. Once they take office I am not in the percentage they care about but occasionally will get tossed a stale crumb. Ironically they can't work across the aisle but can still socialize and laugh with each other at their ability to fool the masses.

I am a "The glass is full of p1zz" person about just about everything.

Many believe in the proposition that congressional representatives are the people's delegates. And according according to the doctrine articulated by Edmund Burke, is an elected representative who acts in perfect accord with the wishes of his or her constituents

However, it seems to many that an elected representative who believes that his or her own best judgement, rather than instructions from constituents, should be used in making legislative decisions has become the norm. These representatives are typically considered trustees.

It's my belief they should be the delegates they are elected to be and do the will of the people, rather than following their own opinions and beliefs.

This is understood to have happened and continues to happen because the constituency, you and I, typically doesn't care a great deal on how bills are voted as long as it doesn't impact us directly. In any event where the issue is a matter that does typically impact a constituency, they make calls, emails, letters, t-grams, and many other comms sources to make their representative aware the next election will be based on his/her following the ideals, wishes and voices of the people they represent ... and it usually works. When the elector is reminded the people are watching, they pay mind to what the people want.

When they see the people are not watching so closely they will use their vote to negotiate items they want on a personal level. But, after so many years of playing the center and still being reelected time after time, some representatives will not give a damn what the people want and still vote their own opinions. These are the electors who are most guilty of infecting our congress with the total BS we often see today.

Many of us call for 'term limits' and blame the lack of a term limit to be the reason for our corrupt congress. The truth is House of Representatives, and a 6 year limit on Senators, all barring anything out of the ordinary like the death of a congressional representative and a governor's appointment, etc. Until we begin using these opportunities to limit the politician's terms, we'll see no improvement in our representation.

Just this one man's opinion! jj

But you just don't understand. Trustees are better equipped, have a greater understanding, are more nuanced, have access to more information, than the rest of us ignorant huddled masses. :censored: Talk about elitist, self-aggrandizing, SOBs Somebody get a 🤬 rope.

I still believe in the power of the ballot box as the way to set term limits. I admit there would be a few sheet pills swallowed for a term or two but not electing incumbents does set term limits. After that cycle ran for a brief period I would like to think they would be willing to set term limits. The rinse and repeat of incumbency is the bane of the election process. Most politicos know once in always in holds a high percentage of truth roughly 80% for House/Senate, so to your point why is there a need to be a delegate. Lifetime appt to SCOTUS, please.
