Thumb safety

I guess there are no lefty’s that have a Ronin. Me personally like to have a ambidextrous thumb safty because I shoot with both hands. I like the Ronin but if I have to spend the money to upgrade is it worth it?

I would think it would be no different then installing on any other 1911, FYI though, if you get a so called drop in safety, you still will need to have it fitted, even though they say drop in, none really are.
 
Yes I understand this. Just wondering if anyone has done it , if there anything else they had to buy other then the thumb safety. Like grips. Just looking for information. Thank you for response
 
On the grips, I think it will depend on what kind of safety you get, some safeties do require the grip panel to hold the safety on, also, some don't, not really sure, but if you get ahold of @xdman on here, he can lead you in the right direction, you can PM him.
 
You just have to fit the ambi safety, if you don't have a jig you can cut it with a file. But be warned the thumb safety is not just for looks it is a critical part to make sure the pistol is safe. You can easily over cut the safety ruing 50-75 Dollars. When I fit one, I have to take the pistol apart dozens of times, test fitting. I would give you the advice let a professional fit the safety for you.

And as mentioned sometimes an ambi safety has an arm that rides underneath the grip panel That also needs to be changed out or cut. Others use a sear pin to hold it in place.
