Top 5 Hellcat Red Dot Optics

Makes sense. I have vision correction as well. So your concern extends to ANY optic right?
Not really. I have another red dot on a different pistol and it's usable. It has a 3 moa dot, but it looks more like a jagged - to me than a circle. I'm just concerned about the 507K because of the reticle choice. I don't know how bad the large circle will look, and if I turn that off I'm left with a 2 moa dot only, which will probably be fine but I'd prefer to see it with my own eyes before I buy and have the slide modified.

Kenzie's Optics, and believe it or not, I just got an email indicating it shipped today!

Nice. Great buy. I ended up getting one from Palmetto, but I think it was a bait and switch. I dont see it being in stock. Your price was better. Seeing 289 on Kenzies now. After viewing the sage video on that optic I really want to give it a try. I was about to pull the trigger on the swamp fox sentinal bundle with that iron shield thing, but that video with from sage put me over. He bashed that thing!

Two things...I was advised to pre-order as they fulfill those as soon as a shipment comes in first. Also try the coupon code TY10 - it worked for me for 10% off that gets you to 260.

The Sentinel seems like a good, nicely priced sight. I decided against it because of how much it apparently obscures the iron sights on the Hellcat. I liked the 32 MOA circle around a 2 MOA dot, the more robust frame around a glass optic, and the side battery port so I don;t have to remove it. I don't like that I have to modify the index posts, but figure that without them I can mount virtually any sight if I want to ever change (which I seriously doubt I would).

Would sure love to see a comparison of the relative window sizes of all these optics. I have the Hellcat that came with the SMSc on it. I like it though the window is really small and its easy to lose or not pick up the dot at times. I know need more practice but a larger window might be nice.

I have the Shield RMSc on my Hellcat and, after some practice on presentation and some range time, the dot is right where it needs to be. I think this is the case on all red dots in most cases. Practice makes perfect. I also have an M&P Shield 9mm that I'd like to put a red dot on. I'm waiting to see what forum members experience with the new Hex Wasp. If all goes well, I'd put the Shield RMSc on the M&P Shield 9mm and the Hex Wasp on my Hellcat.

Do the Shield sights lose zero when you change the battery? I just purchased my Hellcat RDP and it appears the battery needs to be changed already. Hoping it has a memory. Thank you.

I can't name the holster in the article but it isn't far off of the offerings of L.A.G. Tactical where I will be getting my holster from. Lots of options.

You have to assume the Shield sights will need the zero corrected because you have to remove them from the slide to change the battery. Maybe you'll get lucky and yours will return to zero, but you'll need to verify that.

I purchased a Hellcat about 4 years ago and ended up buying a hex wasp based on the statements about how it was designed to go with the Hellcat and had cowitness capabilities etc. it was a good sight overall but i question the assessments on cowitness capabilities. When I read or hear 100% cowitness..I expect that the sight picture of the iron sights will be exactly the same as it is without an optic. With the Wasp there is a small amount of the bottom of the front sight dot that is blocked by the optic. I would say it is more like 80% cowitness. I recently purchased an SMSc hoping that it would be 100% cowitness as some people on this thread have stated it is….but I also find that it is about 80% as well. Has anyone else determined this to be the case? Is my interpretation of 100% off or unrealistic?

I have the RMSc and my front sight is completely visible. It's a full view of the front circle sitting right where it belongs in the rear U.

When I had my CZ slide milled for a 507/407, they cut it so it has the raised lugs.

I would also like to note that the only dot I have ever had fail was a Romeo Zero.

I know anything can break, but dealing with Sig customer service was a trial in patience.

Thank you for your reply. Based on what I’ve heard and read about the Shield sights I went ahead and decided to order some. I’ve included pictures of my findings to take up the thousands of words I could probably write on this ( brevity not being my strong suit)

First is the picture from the SA website.

To me, the view of front post appears to be identical in each picture i.e, there doesn’t seem to be any part of the optic body showing in the U opening of the rear sight (completely unobstructed view of not only the sight ring but of the front post itself)

My picture of the RMSC.
This is the same sight supposedly in the SA website picture as one can see the S and D from SHIELD which comes on the RMSc but not the SMSC.
In this image ( 99.9% -100%) of front sight ring showing. Can clearly see some of the back beveled portion of the optic within the rear U sight, however it seems to just touch vs cover the sight ring

SMSc (basically identical to RMSc)

As an example of what I consider a poor cowitness picture.
Hex Wasp (significant amount of lower portion of the outer ring blocked)
Of note this is a discontinued sight

RMSC. Picture sent to me by SHIELD company. Note the slide is open. Can clearly see a bit of the FDE sight body in the U opening of the back sight.

My conclusion is that the RMSC and the SMSC give good sight pictures, however they do not seem to look quite like the picture from the SA website. In that picture there appears to be absolutely no amount of the red dot sight body showing in thr rear U sight, while in all my pictures and the one from SHIELD sights, it is clearly visible. It would appear to me the the SA website picture is enhanced.
