Traveling with Checked Firearms Best Practices

Okay, to clarify.

The articles that I'm referencing and I will try to find it the person was flying from point A to point B and never even planned to be in Newark or New York.

So apparently wheb the plane landed they collected their baggage and when they attempted to check back into their next flight they declared the weapon in accordance with federal law.

Then they wete arrested for possessing the weapon in that jurisdiction (That they never intended to be in anyway),

So the author , I think Larry Corriea, suggests that should your flight be rerouted the best thing to do is never take posseion on your luggage.

Let the airline handle it and get it to your final destination.

I use Newark NJ Airport for most of my traveling. They have never asked me for any credentials for my firearm. I’m mostly going to a Gun friendly State and I don’t remember any asking for credentials when returning home. They mostly are just concerned that I am transporting the firearm properly. I hear in The New York Airports they have a Port Authority Police Officer check your Credentials. I generally don’t use New York Airports unless I am going international. I was wondering has anyone been asked to show Firearm credentials in any other Airport besides New York?

Years ago, New York City put a New Jersey cop in jail because he used the train to travel to work and needed to go thru NYC to get there.
Was during King George the Seconds regime and the law allowing police to carry across state lines came into being as a result
