Trigger options for Hellcat

I agree trigger should force better accuracy since it must be pulled straight back. And in all reality, I should not ever have a need to use the pistol in self defense. Maybe a lot of practice will give me the confidence that should it be needed it will fire. Apparently no one else is having this issue with the trigger.

I will agree
The side trigger thing is there, no doubt about that. It is not a natural pull to have happen. Like I was mentioning, I have to kind of almost force it to happen. But, under normal circumstances/conditions the side thing is hard to reproduce.
I feel, that it is almost like a off color spot in the wall. Not really noticeable, but cause you know it is there, it is brought to the front.

The Hellcat was out for several months. Rave reviews and lots of enjoyment and positive feedback. Plenty of high profile and experienced shooters praising and appreciating the Hellcat.
(Opinion and speculation here)
One day, a person actively getting familiar with the firearm which one should. Most likely practicing dry fire, found this strange occurrence on a side load where the trigger would not pull back.
Think about that situation from a holstering perspective?
Out or garment or in garment
If something were to catch. Like a hoodie pull string or end of shirt, a fold in the leather if that style is used.
With the only safety being a trigger style safety.
I think the slight side load protect would be a good thing.
Stop and think, why is there so much resistance right now and investigate versus the opposite and the firearm go bang.
Just my thoughts and opinion again.
I VERY much appreciate and enjoy the open discussion!

Everything you say makes sense. I’m looking for options for dry fire practice now. Talked to Coolfire trainer today and found out they are actively working on a hellcat model, but the miniaturization is what they’re trying to overcome. As of now they’re not even close but they are committed to working on it p365& glock 43 are part of that project since they’re all so popular.. If they get one they said the others will follow. Advantage is you use your own trigger in the dry firing. The guy heading up the project has 2 hellcats, so maybe ne has extra motivation.

This might sound odd to this day. Almost like taking selfie’s! LOL
I go out into the garage (sometimes I still feel silly)
I dry fire with snap caps in front of a full length mirror. From concealment from about 7 to 10 ft.
After I draw and pull trigger. I look at the mirror and where the firearm is pointing.
You can see if you have the barrel cocked up or down, twisted left or right.
I use my own body as the target.
In a defense situation you would be facing the would be attacker in the same manner
I have even taken my phone and recorded a video(s) to break it down.
It really helps with body awareness and draw to present firearm
It has served me well
I have also been in simulators, instructors have been quite surprised with my accuracy and form
Just a thought for you if you want to keep practicing

Hi,
Sounds odd? Does it work good for you is about only question. If does, very cool!
If isn't immoral, illegal and sometimes fattening and works well? Fantastic!
You're thinking for yourself on what works for you, that's also very cool!
Thanks for passing ideas and thoughts onto others! :)

From my little experience, am thinking some of Hellcat's sporadic trigger issues may have been caused by trigger locks, especially cheap plastic ones with no soft rubberized inserts sometimes used and possibly installed haphazardly by some LGS and not others? They can cause trigger to be pushed sideways while pressing on both trigger and guard if installed incorrectly. I won't use trigger locks especially on poly guns triggers. Seem to be more sensitive to me. Another hopeful thought is some of trigger issue may eventually work or wear itself out after more repeated use?

Am thinking trigger locks can misaligned triggers and also why happens to some while not with other Hellcats? Especially with displayed guns which may sit longer, which one in question here was known to be. Cable locks, if any gun lock needed, are much better solution because less chance of trigger or other issues.

That well may be the case for some, but my issues occured first time out of the box. I have safes and don't use trigger locks. Unfamiliarity well may have been my problem. I'll practice trigger pull. But the one thing I'm concerned with is if I were to be in a tussel for the gun, within arms reach, I might not, due to the dynamic situation achieve that perfect grip and trigger pull. As I said earlier, that is likely never to occur, but I'm just considering all possible scenarios.

Exactly on trigger. Hellcat's not really designed for much but CC.
All I actually really knew before is what had experienced personally.
If one around here doesn't wear in better than is, it will be replaced.
Maybe why newer Hellcat has different trigger? Beats me.
