truck with lithium batteries flips over in L.A.

gonna burn (as said on the radio) over 48 hours

just looking at the position of that container box, it should have been mounted further forward for better weight control...(too much weight) on the tail end, and taking a left turn, maybe a wee bit too fast, i think caused this.

With lithium being way lighter than NiMe or lead acid the container probably weighed more than the cargo/product. Agreed on container position or and cargo needing proper position on trailer. If it's a trailer for containers only it's limited on how they can be carried. Most are a single 40' or 2 20's. None container trailers have more flexibility on loads. The 1 loading would most likely know less about load distribution that the trucker (knowledge is key)? Was part of the load already uploaded or wad it headed to pick up more cargo? News never tells the hole ;) (whole) story 🤣🤣🤣

Do you remember what the spacing is on roadside flares or triangles when parked on side of road? I thought (Texas anyway) the furtherest is 200' behind, but this guy today had it about 50'

i cannot see the locking points on that particular chassis..

but i have seen multiple locking pins all along the length for various containers...that may be the "newer" chassis of course. there are still container chassis out there with bias ply tires

looks like some sorta electronics container now that i'm looking at this on a larger screen? a cabinet type of something in the middle. with the top side being gone, was it a "soft side"?

it seems like at the front of the trailer, a door from the left side is over the trailer nose, and what seems like hinges at the rear, and that side door went over the rear doors..those sheets on the ground, may be that special blanket they use to smother these fires..???

i dunno....if so, could be a side load/read load type of trailer, almost like a semi closed flatbed, for loading/unloading from the sides.

too many new types of trailers for special loads these days.

i cannot find anything right now regarding special trailers for those batteries.
