There are some real messed people in the world. There always has been. It's just that with internet, social media and the "need to be connected" we all know about them now. They can have their fantasy lands and imaginary friends all they want. They just make me look that much more normal.

All of this crap is being foisted upon the country to weaken it. We are being beaten from within. We are at about 850 cuts of the " Death of a thousand cuts " concept.

I have to stop now or I will say things that will get me banned. Most if not all of you folks know what I am getting at.

It's been said before papa that's the way it will happen .... from within. I've got to agree with you on the "about 850" cuts.

I'm going to go out on a limb a little farther than mikep though and say I think it goes farther than just social media and those connections. I can remember way back in the 40's, 50's, and into the 60's we had gov't supported places where those with mental issues were put/kept.

They were called insane asylums back then, but then 'Political Correctness' came about and they were thought of as bad things and they were closed down by 'Mainstreaming' most of those folks into mainstream society. And those with mental issues have been out and among society ever since then ..... growing ever bolder, procreating, (yes I know not all mental issues are inherited, but many are), going ever deeper into whatever issues some of them are dealing with, with very little to no corrective actions by or from us ... 'Society'.

Now don't think I'm totally insensitive to those with mental issues, I'm very sensitive to them and their families. But I'm also very sensitive to all the rest of society who has to live with the results of them growing in numbers, becoming more and more of an issue to others, and in general affecting society over all. We don't put a rotten apple into the basket of good ones, why do we do it with people? Typically speaking most families with mentally ill members have absolutely no way to help those affected, and in general are too embarrassed to look for it.

You're right mikep, it does have a great deal to do with social media and us being made more aware of these people and their issues, but that same media has created even more of the issues through copy cats, those on the border line who see others get away with it, do-gooders' who think it can be fixed by ignoring it even exists, etc.

I certainly don't have the whole answer, but a big part of it is to take certain of those out of society, out of the mainstream. Take a much harder look at how that mental illness plays into daily crime and decide on either a punishment or mental help whichever is called for. We all have to admit that much of today's crime is a result of mental illness, while much of it is just plain evil. But must be addressed/stopped.

The only way I know to get a handle on both the mental illness issues and the evil crime issues is vote for people who will uphold the laws of the land. Some/many elected officials in office today are prime examples of how we have voted so wrong in the recent past.

And to close with just a little humor ...... It's believed today that 1 out of every 4 people are mentally deficient. Look around you at your 3 best friends. If they all seem alright, then it must be you !!!
