Vortex Spitfire Red dot

I have that exact Vortex Spitfire Prism on my 5.56.
Love that thing. Great clarity and great reticle.

Vortex makes great stuff and the customer service is fantastic. I considered the Spitfire but for me personally I didn't see the advantage of a prism sight and the eye relief that goes along with it, for a 1x magnification optic. To be fair though I have never looked through one and my research consisted of reading about it on the internet.

I was a little scared to try another red dot . I have been using Sig Sauer Romeo 5's I have 4 of them and really like them and also the Romeo 7. But I wanted a green dot . I was looking at the new Romeo 5 Predator , which I'd like to see in person but i haven't found one yet . Then a friend showed me the new Vortex Spitfire with red & Green ballistic circle's with choice of different settings. Checked one out in person at Sportsman warehouse and was impressed . So now time will tell ... I took the chance ..

I think you will like it. Also, the unconditional lifetime warranty is incredible.

I’m also a Romeo 5 guy and I also have 4 of them. Be sure to tell us what you think once you run it a bit.

Is that a Sig Sauer Tread 5.56 . It looks almost like my Tread . if so cool
Yes, it is. Love that thing. Runs flawlessly and ive put a ton of different .223/5.56 rounds through it. Not a single issue.
Only thing I dislike about it is the handguard gets really hot after 100+ rounds. Need to change out to the enhanced handguard eventually.

The eye relief on my 5x took a little getting used to. But it really is a nice red dot/scope. It is very well made and great clarity. As i said the other day, I had a little confusion about the hash marks, but figured that out. I do not even turn it on as the reticle is great and enough for me to see. Nice to have the ability to turn it on if I need to though. The levels of brightness are awesome.
All in all it is a pretty good scope/red dot that I am anxious to get back out and really see how I can do with it, now that the learning curve is now over.

I thought so . I was all over the Tread when it 1st came out . I also have the Sig M400 Patrol but gas piston so really heavy to shoot or carry .. Any ways I'm like you put all kinds of ammo through the Tread and not one failure ever , everyone loves how it shoots with the Romeo 7 red dot on it. I was going to get the tread 5.56 pistol , the price on the pistol was the same as the rifle . I wasn't happy with that . But when I compared it to the Springfield Saint Victor 300 black out the price was better and build Quality was better . That was my 1st Springfield Gun. Now i have 7 Springfield guns .. I use to be a big Sig guy . Now i have a little of everything ..

Everything I own is either Sig or Springfield currently. I've had zero issues with any of my Sigs, and well, you know the issues i've had with my Saint Victor .308

Gonna take the Ronin out to the range tomorrow for the first time and i'm fully expecting it to run smoothly. I still love Springfield firearms and i'm not ready to give up on them. I truly think I just got unlucky with my Victor and I trust them to do the right thing. Time will tell.
