Wear on my recoil system

Ok, I have XDS Mod2 9mm. I have about 800 rounds through “her”. I just finished a cleaning and notice some wear on the recoil system that I’m not sure about. It reminds me of a type of a curling on the edge of the washer where the springs sit. I’ll attach a picture. It’s shinny in the area I’m talking about. I hope it’s normal wear and nothing to worry about. I am a new gun owner, less then a year, and that’s why I come here. Any help is always greatly appreciated.

Have you noticed any problems with how the gun functions? A certain amount of wear is normal on any moving part. I often have difficulty determining if something is starting to "wear-out", or if it is finally getting "broken-in". Unless you are experiencing problems with the gun, or see excessive wear on any parts of the barrel/slide/frame that the spring makes contact with, I'd assume that your spring still has plenty of life left in it. I'd just go with the recommended replacement intervals, but would shorten them accordingly if I were firing large amounts of +P ammo or particularly powerful handloads.

Absolutely no issues at all with the gun. I’ve never had anything go wrong. It’s fired every round I’ve put through it. (Knock on wood) Lol

A quick question if you don’t mind...
Where would I find a guide on recommended replacement intervals for the parts on the XDS Mod 2?

I had never looked for Springfield replacement intervals before, and I'm having trouble finding a specific number. Other manufactures list intervals between 5,000-10,000 rounds, so I'm assuming Springfield would be in that ballpark. They might be able to give you a specific number if you call them. I've only had to call Springfield one time, but they were very friendly and helpful.
 
It's normal wear. That end of the recoil spring assembly gets the most violent impact of the entire gun. I had a similar concern with my XD subcompact but the wear had progressed farther. I sent a pic to Springfield customer service and they sent me a new one. It was around 6k rounds. I started putting a drop of oil (and then soaked up the excess) on the underside of the barrel, where the recoil spring seats, and haven't had any problems with any of my 5 pistols since.

It was also why I first started joining Springfield groups and eventually led to getting a Staff position here. So that little guy holds a special place in my collection of doodads and whatchamacallits. :)

Careful! The Xds was my first purchase too (My XDM 40 4.5" belonged to my dad) and once you get bitten by the shooting bug it can spread fast. I think I'm up to 7 Springfields now along with another 5 sundry makes, one being quite ridiculous. All of that in the span of 5 years and it's still a drop in the bucket compared to some of the heathens roaming this forum.
