Jealousy isnt a good look on you Anni
48 inches? Son, you sure you're not putting coffins in the ground?Me too. All my fence posts start out at 10'. Then I sink them 48" and bell the bottom of the hole out. I put a couple inches of screenings ( 1/2" minus) at the bottom of the hole. Usually takes 3-4 80 lb bags of cement. They never move. Then I cut them after the fencing is up.
I used to put them 36". Then I started putting them about 42". Then the flood of 2017 came and wiped me out. All the posts I set at 36" were laid over. None of the ones I set at 42" were. So when I poured piers and laid beams to put my outbuilding on, in order to flood proof it ( The piers in the back are 48" deep and extend out of the ground about 3.5') I dug them to 48" and belled them out like an elephant foot. That's the new standard.48 inches? Son, you sure you're not putting coffins in the ground?
some of us are like the old toothless lion...we still roar, but nap times are betterThanks ya’ll.
