Looking good killer I started yesterday on scraping the left side of the house trim take all the bubbles out and let it dry . Got distracted my neighbor was pulling weeds in the front so I help him hedge trim all his hedges he picked it all up by that time I am in a Zen mold for doing projects usually I do things really fast but since I am retired things change so I quit for the weekend and continue during the week

48 inches? Son, you sure you're not putting coffins in the ground?
I used to put them 36". Then I started putting them about 42". Then the flood of 2017 came and wiped me out. All the posts I set at 36" were laid over. None of the ones I set at 42" were. So when I poured piers and laid beams to put my outbuilding on, in order to flood proof it ( The piers in the back are 48" deep and extend out of the ground about 3.5') I dug them to 48" and belled them out like an elephant foot. That's the new standard.

All this digging is done by hand with sharp shooters and post hole diggers. When I poured the piers for my shed I hand mixed 93 ( 80lb) sacks of concrete in a wheelbarrow. 6 piers. One day.

After I moved the doors and built some steps and a small landing ( which will eventually connect to the deck I am building off the house.

The shop is now sided to match the house. Which is what I spent my last vacation week doing. This isn't the shop, but it's the same siding that now covers the shed which is off camera to the left in this picture. You can see my ban boards which I installed before siding the house.

Again the shed is off camera to the left. From where I stood to take this picture the river is directly behind me. And if you look at the far left of the picture you can just see one of the garage doors of my other house right next door.

By now the gutters are up, the grass is nice there is 2 more foot of landing on the shop stoop, the inside of the house next door is nearly finished and my backyard looks like some sort of botanical gardens. Next up is the deck and the last of the privacy fence which will go from the back corner of the house next door over to my house running perpendicular to the back edge of the 8-10 car driveway between them. I set the two corner posts a couple weeks back. 5 more to go and build a few gates. So the privacy fence covers the back yards of both houses.
