ok, so i am "prepping" some of the paper work for my ccw renewal.

i went online to my police dept, got up the forms, and ready to fill them out.....when Adobe Acrobat came up as well......

i could not for the life of me, fill out the forms, like i could do in the past.

so after several tries, of clicking onto this icon, then that icon, i finally got the Adobe to work.

ok, so forms are filled out (no dates yet), and photo copies of my drivers license, and Passport (2 forms of a picture ID required

so now, i have a paper clip holding it all together....

let me get my 1" x 1" photos now...they want 2

uh..where da fook are my pictures...???

i asked the wife is she put them someplace else.......she says no.......and i believe her

so where da fook did i put those pics..??

i turned every drawer, every envelope open, and over, and did what everyone does....

go back to the first place all over again, hoping they suddenly "pop up"...

i even checked the 1st ccw envelope, in hopes i stuck them in there........NOPE......

WHERE DA FOOK ARE MY PICS...????

i ain't gonna fook around no more....i gotta go to cvs in the morning, to get the papers, and if the guy is there, get new ones

i tell you the BS to get a ccw permit some of us have to go thru, when all anyone else has to do is walk in, and get one in about 2 minutes.

Oh, MN has a few flaming hoops let me tell you, but not quite that many. Getting the FL one was fun...fingerprints and all.

My God your state sucks.
yup...the first ccw, i had to have 3 different people "vouch" for my character....and i had to write up a letter as to why i need a ccw...then finger prints as well, and 2 pictures of myself, and 2 forms of photo ID's like drivers license, or passport, or even a certified birth certificate.

for a renewal, i only need to type up a letter explaining how i will safely carry that gun.....

along with 2 pics of myself, and the 2 forms of photo ID's........

then it's "only" $40.00 for the ccw permit

Couldn’t you scale down either the Nick Nolte or Glen Campbell mugshots. They must be close enough.

Here you go. You’re welcome. 😎😇😜🤣👌👌👌

In PA it's done by the sheriff in each county. My county sheriff is extreme pro 2A. He believes everyone should have a CCW, own at least 1 handgun, if not more, and practice. The process is a single page form that they mail well in advance of your expiring ccw.

You walk into the courthouse, their office is the very first office, he moved it there after he was elected probably 20 years ago. Hand the clerk your form & $20, hangout and BS with the sheriff for a few seconds while they do an instantaneous check, snap your new photo and printout your new permit.

The whole process would go even faster if the sheriff wasn't talking with everyone that comes in. Lol!

He even goes with their equipment and staff to libraries in the county on some Saturdays. They setup on the sidewalks just outside and does renewals and greets everyone and talks to people that don't have a CCW about the benefits getting one. I know a few people that have their CCW but still have never bought a gun. 😲

My first carry license was from Centre Co. , PA. Sheriff Denny Nau . That was when you could still mail your app in and get it returned in the mail. I think it was 15 or 20 dollars.

Check out a free state process sometime. Take the class, permit shows up in the mail 2 weeks later. No re-qualifying...just send in your $25 every 5 years with no extra testing....

I had a daughter in Eden Prairie, sw of Minneapolis for 10 or so years. It was always a pain to go visit which I did often. I figured out most of what I needed to do, classes with shooting at a range, and then leave it with them and hope the mailed it to me sometime in the future. Never did it though.

She's not in MN anymore so I'm good now.

MN is odd...they reciprocate with other states, but they require going to a "local" sheriff's office to get finger printed b before they issue a MN CCW. Very unique in the US. MN is certainly NOT a free state. Thank Tim Walz and Ilan Omar.

PA state still controls the process but our sheriff makes the process easy as can be.

My 2 non-resident CCWs, Utah & Arizona, are pretty much that simple. Send the new form & money every 5 years, I think 1 of them needs a new photo, and wait for it in the mail. I've had those 2 for about 15 years.

Minnesota didn’t require the finger prints, but Florida required finger prints and a photo. They also required a specific instructor’s number on a class certificate for the required class prerequisite.
For MN all I needed was a signature from my county’s sheriff’s office.

MN requires me to report to a sheriffs office and get fingerprinted in order for MN to recognize my WI CCP... And then wait for them to mail me the approval. Which I absolutely refuse to do,,,,

I honestly can't say what is required for a handgun permit in Tennessee any more. But I do know you have to take a class from a certified instructor and after that its not bad at all.
I've had mine since 1992. At that time permits were issued by the local Sheriff. You had to go to classes done by the Sherriff's dept one a week for 4 weeks and then shoot the same qualification course the deputies used. Its much simpler now.
I did just recently renew my permit. Five minutes on-line, pay with a credit card, new permit came in the mail about two weeks later. :)
Tennessee went to permitless carry a few years ago. But I still keep my Handgun Permit up to date. ;)

Yep my County in Pa is very similar, just walk into the courthouse, fill out the papers and about five minutes later you get your picture taken and your permit. However I have heard some horror stories from other counties. I'm glad I live in the county I do.

Yep. I've heard similar horror stories about Allegheny County (Pittsburgh). They make you dance through hoops to get your CCW.

That county/city is a far left leaning area and it's gotten them nowhere, unless you count rising homelessness and crime.
