WH announces Thursday is Bidens day for Exec Action on Gun Control

Sidebar:
I love the word “common sense” when used with gun control.

considering news is reported/typed/relayed at a 6th grade level of verbiage, most folks couldn't tell you the name of their governor or local mayor, and lots of folks need smart phones just to navigate across town, common sense is a very low bar

Um....WHAT???

I also note they didn't mention the shooting 5 minutes from here (Frederick, MD), yesterday.

Probably because it doesn't fit their narrative - the shooter was a black man named Fantahun Girma Woldesenbet.
Just like the guy who rammed into the Capitol police officer the other day.

This hasn't really been on the news much either.

Furthermore, the fact that he is pulling out the EO card so soon is indicative that he knows Graham was right when he told him he wouldn't get 50 votes much less 60 in the senate for gun control bills. Whatever he does will immediately be challenged and is likely to just be him pandering to the antis. When it doesn't work he can at least say he tried.
Obama was more of a pragmatist. He knew he couldn't legally do anything and he said so. Hence his list of common sense gun rules which were totally non binding.

It should also be noted that the ATF is not above the constitution. They can change a few arbitrary rules, but they don't have carte blanche for example to ban AR pistols or make them suddenly NFA items.

All of this is done in the backdrop of a 6-3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court that no anti-gunner wants to see any gun cases any time soon.

They won't even be EO's, the semantic "executive action" is just some internal suggestions he can make to the ATF and Justice Department, Obama did it too, it didn't have any real impact on anything other than the way the government monitors certain information for the duration of that particular presidential term.

But it let Obama and now Biden posture being tough and proactive to their ignorant anti-gun bases.

It will, however, in all likelihood exacerbate ammo shortages and price gouges by inspiring another round of panic buying.

I'm not sure Biden could do anything that would make that any better. As long as he's in there people are going to be worried.
