What are you doing right now??

Indeed. It's the most retarded thing I've ever seen.
I know you're good folks, my son has ADHD and has been called retarded in such mean ways it's really hurtful but I know it's used so casually. Just saw a post on Instagram that used the word and the person was scolded and word removed. There has been nothing but kindness and acceptance from all of you so please know you are all special.

I am 64 here and was brought up NOT to call people names or make fun of them at all, I still go by that today, my mom preached to me when I was young. There are a lot of good people here and glad you joined us.

My apologies Hilda. I will find other less hurtful words in the future.

After spending close to 2 grand on 226 & optic was notified by Apple my 2013 desk top computer can longer accept upgrades. Have started my search for a new Apple, gonna get expensive.
Buy refurbished from the Apple store. DON'T buy it from a 3rd party.

And unless you're recording music, gaming or some other stuff that requires lots of ram and great graphics, just get a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air.

I am not a computer guru by any means. My current Apple has the 27" screen which is no longer available. I saw several listings for refurbished 27" screen models but think I may have the same problem with upgrades. Don't know when the 27" model was discontinued. My wife has a MacBook Pro laptop but I don't like the small screen. The latest version of desk tops have 24" screens.

I totally agree with this. I have a MacBook I bought in 2009 that I use mainly for storage now. My other one got to the point where I couldn't update the IOS so I traded it in for a MacBook Air. For what I use it for, it is more than adequate. I know that refurbished Apple products are good to go...I have AirPod Pros that were refurbished, and I paid a good $150 less than new. Definitely buy from an established seller (got mine at Best Buy). You will get a warranty with it.

I know that folks are going more for the laptops for the portability. Last time I was at Best Buy they had a couple of iMac models, but they tend to be spendy.

Plan on using Best Buy for the computer purchase. Discussed this with the wife, she said I was the computer guru of the family, we're in deep poop. Need to take my lazy butt to Best Buy instead of an online purchase.

My wife has 3 iMacs. 90% of the time she's using her Air. I went from an iMac to a MBP and now I'm using a 2015 Air. Since I no longer have a band or need to run Logic, this thing does more than I need it to. It's getting old and nearing the time when it won't upgrade. Usually the wife buys her a new one and I get her old one. Which I think her Air is 2 or 3 years old now.
