What are you doing right now??

Finishing off my coffee. It's only 1 degree out this morning with a -20 windchill, and we're supposed to be in the deep freeze until Friday. Roads will be fun this morning because as the temp was dropping last night, the wind was blowing snow across them. This is what we were missing last year during "the winter that wasn't". Better get moving...

my hygienist asked if i had one, told her no, as they seem (to me) to spray water all over the place.

in fact, the "deep cleaning" she did today, was pretty much a "water pick", and yup....water...water everywhere......(cue Buzz Lightyear here)

then she scraped the teeth, but they were clean that there really wasn't much scraping to do.

my gums were inflamed she said, making the deep cleaning necessary, by the measurement of the spaces in the gums, she took last month

something else she said too was....

that since this cleaning was approved, and i am a diabetic, they will now pay for 4 cleanings a year.......i said.."let's do that"...!!!

good dental hygiene is important to diabetics she said.

old age, heredity, medications, diabetes, can all be contributing factors to what lead up to the inflamed gums.

but to get a water pick.....would (maybe) be a waste, since i will get 4 cleanings a year now.
I used to think a water pic was a gimmick, but have changed my tune. I'm a diabetic and old, too besides having other issues. These flush out food debris and I believe they toughen the gums at the very base. My wife is much better at doing it all and her pockets have been reduced in depth. The hygienist wanted me to do 4 cleanings a year, but insurance covers 2. They tried to scare me saying I'll lose my teeth, but I think I'll be dead before that happens. You can get one fairly cheap, but you do you. 'Nuff said.

The family and I drove to Grand Forks, ND for my brother's wedding in January. Nasty snow on the way meant driving in the middle of two lane highways. The day of looked beautiful outside from inside the house, but it was -20 for a high and everything was snow covered.

drinking my 4th cup of coffee.

went out at 6AM, made a stop to yank some money outta an ATM, then get the newspaper, then get mouthwash that the dental hygienist gave me a sample of...TheraBreath Deep Clean........quite refreshing over the walmart brand of Scope.

Pigtail. I hate shutting people’s gas off when it’s 28 degrees outside. So I have them crank the heat up and I’ll give it an hour then shut them down. Usually it’s about an hour before I have them back up. Inside temp should only drop a degree or two.

That is a nasty stretch of I29. This morning was interesting. I had to slow down to merge onto I94W, as there was a freaking convoy of semis heading my way. They were rolling at between 45 and 55 mph. The surface looked greasy and those guys don’t roll slow for nothing.
