Working on a menu for later this week of standing rib roast and gratin of Potatoes a la Savoyarde. Aka… Potatoes Lyonnaise.
Prime Rib goes on sale at Publix around Christmas every year. I am looking forward to doing one at Christmas and maybe one or two into the freezer. 121 degrees internal temp is the magic number on my BGE.Working on a menu for later this week of standing rib roast and gratin of Potatoes a la Savoyarde. Trouble with guns is, they will all outlive us. Except those polymer guns. They will all get old and just crumble to dust.Just oiled up the new guns and put away. Got a dr appt tomorrow to see if im goin to die sooner than later. May not get to even shoot them. At least for a while.
We need term limits so badlyThinking about this being the 251st anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.
And thinking it should happen again, but throwing in every senator and congressman over age 70.
Your mention of meds brings up issues. UNFAIR issues. Folks get illegal meds, have bad outcomes and folks that really need the meds are banned. SO many people suffering because of no RX from doc's. I'm so concerned for all of you scared and hurting. Used to be if you were hurting and left in pain you could sue the doc's but now the doc's get sued for trying to prescribe help. Years ago I got a Get Well card that said Congrats on paying off the Porshe-too bad it was the docs. Prayers for all of you.I took the day off work today. Woke up at 02:30 in the worst pain I've had in a long time, so I called in then. At this rate my parts are going to wear out before I have the chance to retire. Not much they can do with the arthritis in my spine, but I may be able to get a bionic shoulder. I'm guessing weather and stress are causing the high degree, so my heating pad has become my new best buddy. I only take OTC meds, and I hate it but it takes the edge off. I've gotten to the point where my health is more important than windows and the company's bottom line. I've got lots more living to do...
I never had weather related pains before, but since my shoulder surgery 6 months ago and my knee replacement surgery two months ago, I sure do get the aches when the weather gets cold. Hope you feel better soon!I took the day off work today. Woke up at 02:30 in the worst pain I've had in a long time, so I called in then. I feel you…I’m lucky (maybe?) whee I’ve gotten the seniority in my job that I can cherry-pick my OT (meaning: I don’t take it unless I want it, mostly), and I don’t have to do any crappy jobs when we hit our heavy maintenance cycle (I either was keeping people safe inside confined spaces, or “idiot wrangling”—telling other people what needs to be done, and—far too often—how to do it).I took the day off work today. I’m doing a lot of bull work at my job, and now we’ve lost our assistant supervisor so it falls on me to do that job too. I still get the guilts when I call in, but not so much anymore. You are correct that we’re just a number, and I don’t get paid any extra for the extra responsibility. It just needs to be done, so I do it. I could play passive aggressive (which I do exceedingly well, I might add ), but the dispatching would only back up and I would end up digging out of the mess. Three more months (give or take) and they won’t have this girl to push around anymore.I feel you…I’m lucky (maybe?) whee I’ve gotten the seniority in my job that I can cherry-pick my OT (meaning: I don’t take it unless I want it, mostly), and I don’t have to do any crappy jobs when we hit our heavy maintenance cycle (I either was keeping people safe inside confined spaces, or “idiot wrangling”—telling other people what needs to be done, and—far too often—how to do it).
I don’t put my body on the line any more. The company don’t reward it, they don’t care—they aren’t worth it.
Guess it’s my way of “quiet quitting”; just gotta stretch it out another 7 years, give or take.
