the only 3 times, yes 3 times i ever saw that happen with a .22 magnum, was a Rock Island Armory 1911, shooting Armscor factory ammo....

blew the guys magazine right out, and totally destroyed 3 magazines (different occasions)

and you'd think he'd stop using Armscor ammo (at least the .22 magnum after the first time)

You hit the nail on the head with that post. i am ok. broke my safety glasses and blew my hand off the grip. i stopped what i was doing and took it straight to where i got it and said you can put that POS in the trash.
 
Was one of those days where i should have stayed in and watched reruns of something, took the LC carbine and scorpion out for a spin. i was not impressed by either. they may have to go for sale soon. the stock when extended on both of them is very uncomfortable and the high part of it digs in my cheek. the safety on the scorpion is almost a two handed job. very hard to put back on safety. not bad taking it off. they both went bang every time with decent accuracy. not great but decent. i'll have to give the edge to the LC carbine. controls are easy to operate and it's mostly metal. the scorpion is a plastic gun. the bolt slides on plastic. the whole gun is plastic except for the bolt and barrel. also handguard. 50 yards off a front rest. you can see where i moved the dot to get to center. also the scorpion when it gets hot it will shoot way left. let it cool and it goes back to center. although not in the pic i did run a supressor for most of the shots.

Now for this junk, i had to drift the sight over and got it hitting center and shot about two rounds and it went full auto for two rounds. the second went off out of battery. you can see the firing pin clearly hit the edge. blew my hand off the grip almost and something hit me in the safety glasses. kinda messed them up.

Wow Belt Fed, I’m glad you’re ok. That sure is scary stuff. I’m thinking 🤔, this may be a warning to you to get out of the gun collection business. Tell you what, I can hold them for you until it seems safe again 😇😬
But in all seriousness, I’m glad nothing more severe happened to you and that you’re ok. 👍

wow.....i didn't know you had a RIA .22 mag....until i saw that picture later.....maybe you mentioned it months ago..??

anyway, i only use Armscor ammo for my 1911's that shoot 45 ACP darned good ammo.

but i do believe that their .22 mag ammo has issues.

like i mean that buddy of mine, 3 different times..?? with that ammo..????

maybe he bought that ammo in bulk, or different Lot numbers....??? i don't recall asking him that.

but i personally shoot Federal, or CCI, or WMR out of that gun.

and at the 25 yards christmas contest at the public range, i have won 3 years in a row with it.....
