What happened to the XDE line?

Well to be honest, I was wondering where the XD Mod2 line went to as well. The Mod2 in the 45ACP is one of my favorite's. Was planning on getting the Mod2 in a compact, but they were discontinued.
But to answer your question, the XDE was probably not making the sales that would warrant continued production. And as well as the Mod2, a lot of people had an issue with the handle saying "Grip Zone" on it. I am sure it slowed sales from those that will find any reason to complain. I just used a rubberized grip tape on mine. I am hoping they Make a XD Mod3...lol

Too big, too heavy with low capacity for a polymer and then trying to find a market for a DA/SA for a concept comeback? Seems almost everyone wants smaller and lighter and a striker.
I liked the idea of the XDE thought of getting one to replace the similar setup of my old SW469 thats as heavy (24oz or 33oz w/12+1) and big for a 3.5” compact, even compared to specs of XDE.

Lots of people had problems with those pistols though. I haven't heard of anyone complaining about the XD Mod 2 except the one guy here who was having issues with his a few weeks ago.
