While working in a factory pushing a hand cart, decided to step on the bottom of the cart and see how far I got, forgot floor dipped front of the cart came up trapped middle and index finger between the handle and the floor, burst the end of both fingers, went to hospital nurse said this might hurt a bit, lifted the nail up and put the painkilling injection into the bed of the nail, nearly went through the roof.then started to stitch them up,haven't done it since lol

When I got to Fort Sill they took my cigarettes away. I went 13 weeks without one and had zero withdrawals.

Dumbest thing I ever did was buying a pack when I got out of Basic
Just the reverse. 17 basic training, at parade rest, hot sun, in some field at Ft. Benning. The D.I. ordered all the smokers into the shade of a pine to and light em up if ya got em, everyone else stay at parade rest in the sun. Thats the day I KNEW I was a smoker. Camel straits just like my dad. About $6 or $7 a carton. Went to jump school later and had a beer machine right beside the soda machine. My how times have changed.

a cat that my daughters had, (decades ago when they were like 10 years old), got into the basement and got grungy with dirt, dust, and maybe some oil(??)

well...i said.....(my dumbest thing about to happen)...."it's bath time"

yeah riiiight...

try holding down a cat, on a slippery bathtub, and using a shower hose.......and try to get the scratches you get to stop squirting blood...

in later years, IF a cat ever needed a bath..??

i took it to the groomer.........

i'll shed no more blood at bath time.......

In 2007 I enrolled in one of those for-profit colleges become a medical assistant. Now to be fair I know people who are medical assistants who makes a good living doing it.

It was my fault for not doing my research but after I spent I think $25,000 to get my "degree" I found out that between the three schools in town who were producing medical assistants they were pumping 120 new people into the job market every couple months. I applied at every single Medical Practice in town with the exception of OBGYN and was told that they wouldn't even look at my application unless I had two years of recent clinical experience.

I'm still paying off that student loan.

ETA even so I'm glad it did it. I was horrible in high school my academic skills were non-existent. I didn't know how to do reports I didn't know how to do research I didn't know how to properly write a composition.

When I went to this "college" I took it seriously oh, maybe because I was paying for it. But I stayed on the Dean's List all four semesters. I did all my coursework. I learned how to write a proper report with annotations and sources. And as far as their course curriculum went I did really well.

The school was closed I I don't know if the government revoked their license or they were sued out of existence but it was one of those for-profit colleges that got busted for predatory lending practices. If you walked in the door they would find a way to get you student loans that went right into their bank account.

i think "here" and maybe where you are, the local grads that got jobs, are required to do time in an actual hospital, nursing home, etc, for credits. this also goes towards "experience".

the online "colleges" may delete that requirement, or they should at least inform you that this is required?

yeah, i don't know what "possessed me" to give a cat a bath. he was very dirty, and seemed to have "oil" on him, and i didn't want him ingesting anything.....and getting sick, that's all i knew.

he had multi-colored gray, black, white patches on him, with white being the dominant coloring. he was quite a handsome cat.

but if i learnt anything after that, it was to go to a groomer..hell, even our tropical fish went to the groomer..

no way was i ever gonna wanna see them go "piranha" on me...
