My winter carry is an xd mod 2 45, but it's the subcompact. It still has a 3.3" barrel but I get 9+1 and 13+1 in 45acp. It's very accurate and recoil is stiff but manageable. I really like the fiber optic front sight too.

My Son and Son-in-law both own 9mm versions. They like the additional round count of this model.

I own and love my XDs in 45ACP. I have however a new love - the Hellcat. I would welcome thoughts on why the XDs in 9mm as opposed to the Hellcat.
