What Vehicle Does Your Gun Resemble?

Glocks work. They are reliable accurate and ugly but out of the box they are hard to beat. Numbers don’t lie. I’m a huge fan of SA firearms and I talk with a lot of people that say that Glock doesn’t “fit” them, they have never said they had to dump anything in them though.
Everyone I know with a Glock has customized the heck out of it to make it "fit." I have quite a few HKs and not one has needed any changing. Nor have any of them ever failed me every with crappy ammo. Darn it, here I'm starting an opinion war. Glock makes a reliable pistol. HK makes a quality pistol. I hope all parties are satisfied and I withdraw from the discussion re Glock.

I’m with you on opinions. HK is top quality, no doubt about it. I customize a Glock not to fit me but for my liking. I like a better trigger and better sights.

Do you need to spend the cost of the tank a second time to customize it so it's useable? I know, I shouldn't dump on Glocks but I just don't like them. I love my HKs and XDms.
LOL, I got off very cheap on my G21. It was purchased in 1999. It's a Gen 3, and it's completely stock except for the tritium night sights. I just had a new pair of sights put on it a couple of years ago, the ones installed when I purchased it finally faded out. I actually traded an HK USP45 in on the Glock 21 after attending an IDPA competition way back when. I wasn't doing very well in IDPA with the HK USP45, nothing wrong with the gun, just didn't match my grip or shooting style I suppose. I was talking to a guy at the IDPA competition who had a brand new Gen 3 Glock 21 and he offered to let me use his Glock for a round of IDPA, it was shooting from cover if I remember correctly. Anyway, I placed 3rd in field of about 20 shooters. I was astounded...first time with a gun I'd never shot before..lol. The Glock just felt...right in my hands. Anyway, long story short, headed to my gun shop the next week and traded off the USP for a brand new Glock 21. The store owner actually ended up owing me money on the trade in for the USP compared to the price of the Glock so he put night sights on it for me, gave me a couple of boxes of ammo, a nice holster and we called it even. I had paid around $800 even back then for the HK USP45 and at the time Glocks were going for around $400-$450 where I live. That was my first Glock pistol. 21 years later, it still shoots very accurate and its had thousands of rounds put thru it. It's been well maintained and I've never had to replace anything at all as far as parts except for the sights. I've since branched out and bought several other brands of handguns but the old G21 sits in a place of honor in my gun closet, semi-retired, but very well respected. My go to handguns now are my Springfields XDs, my Smith and Wesson Shield 45 and my Taurus G-guns, but Glocks will always hold a special respect for me. It's the gun that got me shooting on a regular basis in IDPA and helped me build some confidence in my shooting abilities.

Guns are like automobiles.....not everyone likes Ford, Chevy etc. So you have to go with what fits you and you like. I have SA, GLOCK and SIG so far. I do love all my SA's just a bit more than the GLOCK and SIG, they all shoot different so it is a great challenge to work on shooting excellent with all of them.
