What’s in your B.O.B?

BangBang

Professional
I owe this to @10mmLife for his thread from earlier and suggesting starting a more specific thread. Bug Out Bag? What do you have to get you back say home from work or from home to another designated area? For some it may have to supply you and possibly more for a day or more depending on where you are going. If you are leaving work or the store in the midst of a crisis and trying to get home a simple B.O.B would be great with the right necessities I know of several people that leave or “Bug Out” of home from the city to go to an undisclosed location that may take a day or two where they have supplies but need a B.O.B to get there.
With that being said what do you have in your bag to get you from point A to point B?

I live in a big city.
Non firearm owners will pay the price and suffer. If apocalyptic life hits where its movie scene end of world, i will and take from those who cannot defend themselves to get out of the city and get to sparser parts. Way it will be. My bug out will be ammo, guns and medical. Rest to survive i can get from the other 90% suburbanites that dont own a firearm and from my own stash of daily life

A bug out bag doesn't need to include a firearm though it is highly advised but in situations where you cannot carry a firearm with you in day to day life having essential supplies on hand at a moment's notice can be beneficial such as a first aid kit, road/trail maps, protein bars, knife, rope, windproof lighter, and an emergency blanket. These are just a few examples of items that can be carried in your vehicle or backpack in most city's even if they have Draconian gun laws.

What supplies do you carry and recommend?

I'm glad you're not implying, "Big 'Ol Butt"? Who would want to answer/reply too that one?

So, for what I keep in my bag, and this is what I know can get me from work back home as that is my plan. I keep (2) two spare extended magazines for my pistol, I keep two bottles of water, some type of protein bars, lighter, flash light, fusees, paracord, an extra knife, paper and waterproof pencil, I’m case I need to take some notes and my phone is dead and or have it off to save the battery, I have a pre-packed first aid kit. The bag is not heavy and comfortable to carry, and also I’m driving as far as I can.

On a serious note:
I have told the family where to go if anything happens. In Texas, its tornados.
If you cant get home, then what ?
We have a plan of where to find each other.
Wife at work when SHTF .. go to her moms. Its close by and I’ll know where to go find her.
Kids: stay with whomever your with at their house if far from home. At a Friends = stay at their house unless you are near the house, then go home. Home= stay home.
Have a plan so everyone knows where to be or get to.

from there I can get to whomever and execute with the BOB plan.

i keep ammo, back up rifle with tac light, med trauma kit, some sort of hydration, snack bars, hand held tac light, headlamp and phone battery back up charger pack.
These are all in a backpack i can wear minus the rifle.
i hunt, so usually just throw this pack on when I go hunt. It doubles as my BOB in case I need to walk home from a SHTF, or otherwise leave quick from home

Sounds like a decent setup for what you need! 😁👍

It's good to get the whole family involved for a potential situation. Sometimes they are the hardest to convince.

I have kind of a strange set up. I have a tac vest and bug out bag attached, literally, so I can just throw it all in the car. The breakdown is as follows.
Tac Vest:
-Glock 22 Gen 3 with tac light and four 15-round mags
-Six .223/5.56 magazines
-Flashlight
-Multi tool
-SOG SEAL pup knife
-Med pack attached with MOLLE straps containing an assortment of medical supplies, water purification pills, water proof matches, fire starter kits, pen and paper, compass, snacks, chem lights, solar powered watch, a few other goodies.

Bug out Bag:
-.223/5.56 ammo, .40 cal ammo.
-Knives
-Medical blow out kits
-Range finder
-2 pair of binoculars
-lean to type shelter packed into a small box. I have no idea if this thing works, I've never tried it....probably should at some point.
-water, not nearly enough but enough to get thru first few days if rationed properly
-assortment of batteries that match my rifle optics, flashlights, etc.

This is, of course, minus my Colt LE6920 SOCOM rifle that I'd be bringing along and probably a few more handguns if I had time to pack them in.

This is an ongoing seemingly ever changing list that I keep updating when I talk to like minded people or see something that looks like it might be useful. My bug out bag and vest were set up when it was just my son and I. Now that I'm married again and I have my wife and her son to also look out for, I feel like my bug out bag and vest are woefully lacking. What all do you pack for a 5 year old in case SHTF? We have an area my sister and I have agreed to meet. Her husband's family are like minded and have a mountain camp bordered on three sides by the Ozark Mountains and it has an independent water source. So that's my plan for the most part, aside from some tweaks here and there.

Sounds more like we are talking about a go-bag, not a bug out bag. A go-bag is designed to get you home a bug out bag is for leaving with the minimal gear to survive and never coming back. I work 40 miles from home so my Go bag has what I will need to get me home from work in including three days worth of MREs and water, IFAK, change of clothes including 3 pairs of socks, a Ruger security 9 and Ruger PC Carbine in 9mm which uses the same mags as the security 9. I carry a Benchmade pagan OTF knife always. Waterproof matches and a lighter, paracord, small tarp, rain poncho. The reason I have 3 days worth of food is I will have to avoid some areas on the way home as they are dangerous areas in the best of times. Same reason I have the weapons. I also have a 2 meter handheld ham radio fully charged and am a licensed Amateur radio operator. other normal gear like compass, life straw etc. I keep duty boots and some tactical clothing in my truck and seasonal items also. all of this fits in a Tactical day pack I have, Bug out bag is much more intense.
