When Carrying a Gun Can Put You in Danger?

I really feel sorry for all you guys that can't express your thoughts and opinions freely because of where you live. But I really don't like people who think I shouldn't express my thoughts or ideas, especially when I live in one of the last few areas where free thought is ok. I let my thoughts fly free.
I live in a deep red county in a deep red state and no longer do I have to take my personal vehicle into any place blue. I still don't want anyone who looks at my car to know anything about me, much less think I have a gun.
Trust me, I express my thoughts and ideas quite freely. ;)

Seriously ? You can't think of any reasons besides fear why someone wouldn't want everyone who walks past your truck knowing you were a guy who probably has guns ?

Do you open carry ? Why not ?
Take it easy. And I have opened carry for years. Sorry that you live in a place that you can't or won't. And don't give me a hard time because you are afraid to wear a tee-shirt or hat or have a sticker because of the place YOU choose to live. I know better than to go into enemy territory wearing enemy colors. You give a lot of people hard times to for living in gun hating states and not moving. Again, don't be afraid to fly your colors!

Who's giving who a hard time here gramps ?

I'm wearing a F'ing gun t-shirt right now. You wanna open carry like a tool, you do you homey. I prefer to be the only one who knows if I am armed or not. You want your truck window smashed and some hood rat going through your **** knock yourself out. It's a free-ish country. And I don't give anyone around here a hard time.

You ain't in the military any more. Enemy territory these days is likely not a place you ever go, period. One thing is clear, you haven't spent much time in the hood.

Wow. That went south fast. Guess I can't count on you for post "Likes" anymore. You can go "F" yourself with that last post. Keep telling the story about how many times you were shot at while digging a ditch. I'm done with the likes of you.

Maybe don't drink and post old timer. You start giving me shite and then act like I'm the one hassling you.

Incidentally the answer is 4. I was shot at 4 times.

I could tell you the story about how I got into a fight with some Mexican gang bangers in Buena Park. They had knives, I had an empty Corona bottle. Wanna hear that one ? Or the one about when a guy hit me in the back of the head with a claw hammer while I was on top of his buddy beating the hell out of him. I thought I got shot. I saw stars. I kept beating on his buddy after I looked up at him and told him he was next ?

It's essentially like insisting someone is afraid because they won't stand up in the prison yard and start calling the brothers the N word. It's a ridiculous assertion. I also won't go up to a cop and tell him he's a fat piece of crap who got his ass kicked all through high school and that's why he became a cop. At least not again. :)

How about this Bassbob? You and I never communicate with each other ever again? You never respond to anything I post, I never respond to anything you post. Fair deal?

Like I mentioned there’s a lot of emphasis on the firearm when 99.9% of any scenario your not legal as shooting is not “Reasonable” force where OC/Pepper Spray is…and in the off chance it’s a bad Spray it’s simple misdemeanor battery.

So learn the laws (as in really learn the laws not YouTube)
Get some less lethal training away if you can, carry OC/Pepper spray

And above all don’t do stupid stuff like this guy

Is it really "stolen" if the keys are in it and it's running?

If I get out of my car and leave it running, it is locked (thanks to those fob things). A little tougher for vehicles that use an actual key (I hear there are still some of those navigating our highways and byways ;)).

This right here. We alternate between N. AL and LA (lower AL, aka the FL panhandle) - all freedom loving, 2A friendly, salt of the earth folks... except the ones who aren't. If I had a nickel for everyone I've seen post on Nextdoor about how their car or truck was broken into and a gun stolen, I would probably have enough to buy another gun.
  1. Just because I'm in a "red" state doesn't mean there aren't any criminals here.
  2. Me deciding not to have gun stickers, etc. on my car has nothing to do with freedom and everything to do with not advertising to the aforementioned criminals that I might have firearms in my vehicle/home.
  3. For this and similar reasons, I conceal carry because no one but me and Mrs. Untactical needs to know I'm carrying.
  4. I'm getting on toward social security age soon and need every advantage I can find. For me to come out ahead (alive) in any force encounter depends on the other party/parties not perceiving me as a threat. The element of surprise cannot be underrated.
I could go on, but that's the idea.
