One of the funniest Gumby episode I saw was on a Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) short. It dealt with Gumby being told by his parents to do his chores, so he built robots to do them for him. The robots run amok destroying the yard etc. What made it so funny, was the added commentary from the MST3K group (if not familiar, made up with two robots and a human), with the MST3K robots being sympathetic & traumatized at Gumby's attempt to destroy his robots. It has to be watched to be better understood, as it's difficult to explain in writing.
That said, I agree with SMSgtRod, Gumby is a favorite of mine as well.

Agreed, me too TEXASforLife, Mary Ann all the way. and BTW: I'll also go on record, that I would have given Gilligan one exemption for ruining a rescue attempt. After that I'd either lock him in the Bamboo cave jail for life, or I would have killed him
