If you’re debating the distance at which to zero your handgun’s optic, just listen to Patrick Kelley. The Speer ambassador reveals the zero that provides the best versatility for practical shooters.

Good video and great information, I usually try to zero all my pistols at 15 yards, may have to actually install my WASP back on my Hellcat and try it again, thanks for posting!

Have always sighted my adjustable sight handguns at 30 yards because I hunt with some. I practice bow instinctively at the same distance a lot to keep the visual view ingrained in my brain and eyes.

I imagine I will do the same with an optic if I ever use one.

Someone want to TL;DW the video and summarize?

We have been zeroing at 15 yards and fine tuning at 25 yards for years now with our handgun optics.

I do exactly as he says. I zero all my red dots at 15 yds. The only thing you have to be aware of is if you take a defensive course where you’re on the move, working in close - 7 yards or closer - your point of impact will be low. Not a problem, but if you’re a perfectionist it can take a moment to do the mental arithmetic to make that adjustment.
