Which Doesn’t Belong and Why

What’s the problem with a deep-seated round? Aside from potential feeding issues, there’s the possibility of an over-pressure round. Best to discard it.

i dont know the answer
if thats factory ammo, i would not use it
if i loaded it and screwed up, i would not use it
but i bet i could pull that bullet easy enough to measure the case mouth and see what i screwed up
i did once to see what would look like put a 380 95 gr in a 9mm case
it looked ok, just short. didnt fire it, but it was interesting

I "issue" i/we had last summer got invited to a "range" and did some metal bashing. But the 9mm "tub" of factory ammo the 1 guy's son put a box/pack of .380 in (the tub had/has loose rounds in it). So my mag loading is slow but i didn't see the difference in the 2 rounds. And the guns we were shooting had a couple of no-fires before we took a look at what happened.

But even my smooth brain would see a round like the 1 above...

I shoot a bit of Blazer Brass cased 9mm fmj, over 12k since October 2024. I buy cases of 50 round boxes. I slide the tray out of box and inspect while flat on bench with straight edge before transferring to 100 round plastic boxes. Have only tossed about half dozen that appeared over pressed. I suspect that may have been caused by rough treatment during shipping. Box may be too heavy for the "Nancy Boy" driver to move without dropping a few times. Also had one squib that stopped about an inch down barrel. Un-burnt powder spilled out when I dropped mag. Tapped out with brass squib rod. No visible powder burn on back of bullet. Thoughts ?

Blazer is notorious for not crimping their cases; bullet setback is not uncommon at all (and yes, your speculation about the boxes being dropped would definitely cause it).

As for the squib? If it went pop, the primer went off…odd that there was no powder ignition, though.
