Who works at an essential job?

Here in the people's republic of Illinois, infrastructure and all supporting personnel are deemed essential. I am a heavy equipment tech, so we're still wrenching.
Surprisingly, gun stores have been deemed essential as well. I guess Illinois is not "just Chicago " after all.

Up here in NH gun store's are considered essential mostly because we have a top notch patriotic governor!

Yep. I have my "armed checkpoint pass" on my ID all of the time. I am sure @KLGunner has similar.

Nah, I can't tell you why Pritzker deemed gun stores essential, but he's still a POS. Ted Bundy was a generous, polite guy. You know, when he wasn't raping and killing women.

It says in order for the points to not accumulate or count against you and to get paid while off, if you catch the virus, you'll need to prove you got it while at work! Just like an on the job, off the job injury.

I usually love my job. Just not the politics and managers with great new ideas that want to fix what isn't broken.

I fly Air Medical for a local Hospital. Fixed wing of course. Rotor heads are crazy.

CSX...11 years and I do enjoy my job. It changes every year defiantly not as fun as when I hired out, from the management side of things, they have definitely taken “railroading” away...

I have an essential job. I have to hold down this chair and make sure it doesn't run off. It's a rough job and is 24/7. Just no letup .

Automotive service here. Apparently we're "essential"...although our business has vanished. An average of 30-40 appointments a day have turned into 10 on a good day.

Work is work, but even so I'm going to have to call mortgage lenders and see about leeway...I have some money in the bank, but not a whole lot. If we don't get out from under this thing quickly...
