Article on why the 1911 pistol remains a top choice for gun owners, I have several and if you could only own 1 gun, I’d pick the 1911, only problem I would have is which one…..🤔

1911's have multiple uses

i got into the 1911 fanboy club during the beginning of the scandemic. everyone was buying up 9mm's and ammo like crazy. you had to be put on a waiting list for 9mm guns, and was limited to 1 box of ammo each purchase.

45 ACP, and other ammo like .38 special, and 357 were just collecting dust. that got me into revolvers as well. and NO waiting list or ammo limits.."all you can buy" for those.

good pricing and even discounts for cash, got me into the 1911's (and revolvers)

i had more then, than i have now, i got rid of the "lower priced" 1911's, in favor of the mid-priced, and higher quality brands.

nothing wrong with any of the Tisas, Girsan, RIA, or Remington models that i bought, shot and maintained, they performed admirably.

i maintain ALL my guns (of ALL calibers, brands that i own) with regular cleanings/lubings after EACH range visit, and can care less if others say that is not necessary with todays guns. it was a habit i also got into with my first 2, 9mm's back in February of 2020, when i got into this hobby/sport.

will i buy another 1911 or 2..?

i cannot answer that

well if one is to use their handgun like that HG, nothing like a solid, heavy revolver, just sayin
I knew an Illinois State Trooper in the late 60's who was thrilled to have his new S&W Model 39. He told me about being in a previous fight for his life during an arrest where he ended it by whacking the suspect in the head with his 6" Colt revolver, and bent the barrel. I figure the suspect still has a headache.

I had one .45 1911 that was ignored for years in my safe. I got into Wild Bunch shooting that requires a government .45, so out it came and it also spawned several others. I prefer a clean traditional looking 1911 or one with a light hammer with extended beavertail.
If made correctly, they work as intended. Yep, there are parts galore out there if you choose to do your own parts swapping. Some folks shouldn't bother since they don't understand the platform and needlessly change things and then wonder why it no longer works. They are magazine sensitive and often can be reliable with using a decent magazine. You also need to find ammo that your gun likes, just like any other gun.
