The inconvenient fact for us is that mentally ill people are using guns to kill innocents. Politics has nothing to do with reality. AR's are simply a political bludgeon, a clarion call.

But conversely we as gun owners have a duty to keep firearms out of the hands of crazy people. That has been true throughout the history of firearms. Shouting "shall not be infringed" does not help solve the active shooter problem that affects all of us.

I have researched countless mass murder incidents for an active shooter training program for business and government groups. Not counting terrorism, In almost every incident the killer had a history of profound mental illness and exhibited warning signs that were not recognized or were ignored. Most of these shooters should never have been able to possess a firearm under existing law with proper reporting.

I am so disappointed at our country's inability to implement effective mental health programs. The AR bans are red herrings that will accomplish nothing.

Talking about the shooter or at least don’t mention his/her name.
Don’t glorify the shooter, when they do a platform is created for others to follow for their 5 minutes of fame.

I agree with Hayes. We should not get careless and make it easy for our guns to be stolen. That is our duty for sure.
