WHY?

Why not if you're inclined to buy it? Shooting powerful loads/guns is a thing. I do like big bore guns, but I have my limits. My idea of a small .44 mag. is my 4" 629. No, I don't shoot 300 gr. bullets out of it either.
My 1st deer kill with a revolver was a 29- 4" old pinned barrel model. Broadside shot high in the shoulder, he never moved. Since then have killed several with a 7-1/2" Ruger Super Bllackhawk in 44 mag. My round of choice back then was Rem's 240 grain semi-jacketed hp.

I've taken more deer than I can count with a 8.38" Taurus model 44. And one with a 10" Super Blackhawk. No scopes. I quit hunting with rifles ( in Missouri) a couple decades ago. Just didn't seem fair anymore. It wasn't hunting it was just killing.

When I was shooting silhouettes my M-57 & 29 were 8-3/8. The Ruger was 10". That Ruger was a weird looking gun, but very accurate.

It was a great gun. I should never have gotten rid of it.
Here's a somewhat long story. In 1986 I was competing in the Texas State championships revolver class. There are 40 animal targets. 10 chickens at 50 yards, 10 pigs at 100 yards, 10 turkeys at 150 yards & 10 rams at 200 yards. I missed the 1st chicken and cleaned the rest for a score of 39. One other shooter missed his last ram for the same score, 39. We were both shooting 10" Rugers, 44 Mag. For the shoot-off they put 5 each soft drink cans at 150 yards. The other guy shot first, cleaned them. I missed my last can, he won. I was pissed. Oh well I still had a great time, got a nice trophy.
