No not that kind... lol. We had a members ,family and friends , open to public day at local range last Saturday. Was a group of ladies there that teach women all about hand gun, safety first of course, how to draw, grip, types of holsters and most important have a gun that you like, trust, and fits you etc. etc. Wasn't the well armed woman group, was another group.Well the speed dating thing,I think she goes in a week or so, is they have at least 10 to 12 different carry guns at tables and have someone at each table that explains all the features, checks your grip, how you aim and how you draw, you know all the things that are important to really bond with your gun. Then you move onto the next table. After that is over you can shoot the guns you took a fancy to under supervision of course. They have all kinds of holsters to try out. They don't sell guns it's up to the person to order their gun they want. All 9mm.The last part is they have some kind of plastic bullet they use and put you in a senerio where someone is trying to attack you and you shoot the attacker. I watch these instructors do some target shooting and they talk the talk AND walk the walk.Every movement from drawing to aiming, fireing to back in holster, every movement had a purpose, time after time.

That is actually a great idea! I might throw out a suggestion to my LGS. Worth a shot (pun intended 😎 ).

Wifey did the pistol speed dating thing today. They had 16 handguns all carry guns to try, one was a taurus revolver like she has so she didn't shoot it, the rest were semi autos from different companys.First hour was gun and range safety then they had 16 tables each with a different gun and people to explain the features and to check your grip and answer any questions etc. The range people walked you over to the targets and explained how to load, grip and to always keep your gun pointed down range and to make sure you followed all the rules. She shot the other 15, all 9 mm and really loved the FN reflex pistol. The FN she shot was older model didn't have a safety, but the newer models do and also on some models there is a cover in front of rear sight that has 2 screws to remove it and then you can add a hooded sight. Kinda neat.

There was about 20 women there and some had never shot a gun before today and some were very quiet because of that maybe but after it was all over wifey said it seemed like everyone was talking and asking questions and enjoying themselves. We need more of these get togethers. Wifey says it was a very very nice day and I couldn't agree more.

We need way more of that type of thing. 🙂

Out of maybe 25 hand guns she has shot this is her favorite, her new buddy, it is the ONE.

She did great with her new gun, really fits her good and she shoots it really well. The safety flicks off and on real easy.Only thing is the rear sight has a really big notch compared to the slim front sight. On some of our other pistol i clean the front sight off with alcohol and add 1 layer of black tape on both sides of the sight. Then trim it off the top and back of sight. Some have 2 layers but it closes up the gap and it's easer to center the sight up with just a tiny gap on each site. It's more a less a expermental caveman way of doing it but it works and it's free ifin ya got tape.
