Wild Jeep Ride

When I was about 17 or 18, I was drag racing a friend on a street that had a curve at it's end. I was in my 383 "Super Bee" probably doing in excess of 80 mph as I passed him entering the curve. I remember looking out the drivers window and see the curb inches away from my front tire as I had the steering wheel turned as far as I could right. Looking at the passenger seat, it was at an angle towards me with my right hand pushing down on it. If I had hit the curb at the speed I was going, I would have flew across a small strip of grass, into a wooded area. My friend swore to me that both tires on my passenger side were up off the road. I certainly had God as my co-pilot on that night. 😲🥵👻
When I was younger I was on a long strech of I-95 and there was only myself and a suburu STi for miles so this guy pinned it first and me being young and dumb I slammed the gas in my Mustang GT and we were neck & neck at 120 mph but I had a lot more on the top end and I ended up leaving this guy far back while I was pushing over 145 mph when I traveled over a bridge and my rear end went a few inches in the air and hit the pavement bouncing my rear end back and forth a few times screeching but I luckily kept going straight and slowed way the hell down with a major life lesson learned that day thinking how close I came to be obliterated.

Boy 10mm, that must of been close. I’ve had my 300zx up over 100 on a bad stretch of highway. Just wanted to see what it could do, until I thought “what if I have a blowout ?”, and I backed off.
I once tried to out run a train (not purposely), coming full speed around a curve where I was in the middle of a trestle over a river. Trying not to miss and having my leg go through the ties, I was successful until I reach the end when I felt my shin up against the tie as my leg missed and went through. I was just able to pull it out a dive down a gravel embankment as the train whizzed by. Too many stupid actions when I was younger & it’s amazing I made it this far Alive.

Yeah trains are no joke!

I grew up one street away from the tracks and me and my friends spent a lot of time there hanging on the railroad bridges. We used to duck under the railroad ties on a concrete landing roughly 3ft below the tracks and watch trains pass overhead.

Yeah also slightly illegal.
We would go up to 6000 ft and slow to a stall, open a window and toss out a 12’ streamer. Then do an almost snap roll- cant snap roll a Cessna, wings would come off, kinda a big deal -Dive after the streamer and try to snag it on a wing ... well flight school got rumblings of it and said anyone caught would have disciplinary action. I snagged one and couldnt get it off the tail . Wasnt a good day at school... but was one hell of some good flying 🤪

I used to work with a contractor when I was setting up the CNC machines for Mossberg. He flew his own plane (Cessna) also and was telling me about how it was built over a wood beam.

I was in my 383 "Super Bee"
Wow, they don't make them like that anymore.

I've always obeyed the speed limit.

Yeah it's pretty crazy stuff!

I drive a ton of miles everyday on the highway to get to and from work and I've seen a lot of accidents happen right in front of me and I started thinking of how everyone is only a few feet from environmental danger daily and no amount of training will get you ready for it.
I think of that all the time. Not to sound morbid, but you just never know once you leave the house if you are coming back. There are some crazy drivers out there.
