Yea we were all talking about that we hadn't adjusted for the real cold temps yet since it's a gradual process.Talyn, throw an extra log on the fire for me! Winter for me doesn't start until the 3rd Saturday of November when I go to the mountains of western Va for hunting season. One day I'm packing the truck in shorts and the next morning out in the woods wearing long underwear and all bundled up. Absolutely no time for my body to transition from hot to cold, but I get used to it. When I leave home the trees here still have green leaves and several hours later I find the trees in the mountains are all bare. I chalk it up to the wonders of Mother Nature!
By the time things start moderating around the end of Feb & early March the high 20's & low 30's are like a heat wave and almost shorts & T-shirt weather.
We have a long-progression of the various deciduous tree species changing color, and last trees to change here likely have freeze-dried leaves now & won't have any color.
