I had to send my XDM Elite back to them in March. They shipped it back…FedEx both ways, no issues.
agreed, I've found amazon non contractors better than most UPS and about the same as FedEx. USPS somewhere in between.depending on who the driver is is more of an issue than who the carrier is where i live. both and i'll add usps into the mix because all 3 have issues on getting packages to the correct address! at 1 time there used to be good drivers, but not so much any more!
dhl used to deliver here many of moons ago, but still might get initially the start in the upper east to illinois then transferred to a regional or district end carrier.-agreed, I've found amazon non contractors better than most UPS and about the same as FedEx. USPS somewhere in between.
i've asked on occasion, what the retailer uses for carrier? they reply and i ask if "x" carrier can be used instead because of issues with "y" carrier. some have shipped without extra cost to my choice of carrier. depending on where you buy from, you can choose in their shipping options for "x, y or z" carrier. yes, all can screw-up, but trying to get the lesser of the evils can be hit and miss.Generally if the shipper is paying the freight they pick the carrier. If you are willing to foot the charges most shippers will accommodate your request.
Agree that the area you reside in often is a greater factor than the carrier in general. In our neck of the woods UPS is awful and USPS is the best. Most carriers don't intend to screw up, but it can happen.
EXACTLY!My issue with shipping costs is that for small items, a padded mailer could be done, but no.........you get charged $15 for a ginormous box instead.
