XD 9 help needed

Need some help/ideas. Some years ago I bought an XD9 standard. I really didnt shoot it much. But now I am going for my CCW have been using it more and the fact I live in CA not much in the way of options. Glock Gen3 just doesnt fit my hands well. Gen5 does haha. My only issue with it my larger hands at times seem to not get a good pressing on the back safety grip. looking to see if there is something that can be done to help fix this. I have an XD40 and never had this problem, but is a bit large to CC. I just bought a p320m18 I will most likey max out what i can. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

You can tape it with electric tape.

I guess you need to look at a different gun that fits your hand better. I know it's expensive but...... You might want to look at Smith m&P's. They come with different size backstraps and are very reliable firearms.

M&P is like the Glock gen 3 in my hand its just off a bit.

Like it was mentioned, try a Gen5 Glock, no finger grooves anymore, plus you still get the extra backstraps, mine is nice, plus the Gen5’s gave a far better trigger
This.
The Gen 5 does seems to have better fit in hand vs the Gen 3. They don’t come standard from factory but Glock Performance trigger is pretty sweet upgrade . Additionally the performance trigger only works in Gen 5 double stack 9 mm models.
It’s an easy upgrade you can perform yourself.

I picked up a M&P Shield for “the Boss” and while I will carry it around the house on occasion, I just can’t get with the capacity limitations. 6/7 rounds is just too dicey for me.

Shield Plus is virtually the same size and is 13+1.

Plus the regular Shield is 8+1. Which is respectable.

Better than electrical tape is a piece of bicycle inner tube on the grip. For me, it enhances grip stability. Some will note that disabling any safety device on a firearm may create a problem in court if the gun is used in a self defense shooting.
