xd 9mm red dot

I have an XD 9mm 4" barrel purchased new in 2020 and want to install a vortex red dot. Do any of the newer xdm 9mm slides that come already machined for sight mounting fit on the xd frame?

The only Springfield handgun line I believe comes with slides machined for red dot attachment is the XDM Elite.

Hellcat as well. Both lines are set up for the Burris/Vortex. You could also get a mounting plate that will go into your dovetail cut.

I stand corrected. Yes the HellCat also but the OP was asking about the XD line of pistols so wasn’t thinking about the HC

Sadly the xdm in precision didn't (5.25").

Hellcat as well. Both lines are set up for the Burris/Vortex. You could also get a mounting plate that will go into your dovetail cut.

With all due respect dogg2 ..... I believe the Hellcat is machined for the Shield RDS footprint as well as the Hex Wasp, and the JP Enterprises J Point. I'm sure there are a couple more but don't believe either the Burris or the Vortex are compatible. I'm even thinking the actual weight is an issue with these two.

I'm fairly certain about the first three will work and possibly a couple others. Not quite as certain about the Burris and Vortex, but reasonably so. But hey ........... I could be wrong !!!

I'm wrong. Different footprint between dragonfly and wasp.
For the XD I'd look for the dove tail plate that corresponds to the RDS your looking at buying. I'm sure having a smith/machinist mill the top is not cheap.

Welcome to the forum. I don't believe any of the XDM OSP slides would fit your XD 4" service model handgun (guessing that's your model). I also don't think Springfield Armory would sell you just the slide anyway.

I've seen some places charge less than $100.00 for slide cut for optics. I had nameslessarms.com cut my Glock 43 and mount the Holosun 507K X2 for $239.00 Holosun was included.
