XDM Elite 3.8

BryMo

Alpha
I've been interested in purchasing one of the XDM Elite series guns for quite some time, but can't seem to find them. Specifically the 3.8 compact. I have searched nationwide and all dealers seem to be out of stock, yet have plenty on order. Does anyone know if these models are still planned to be available? Has production been shifted to pump out Hellcats while other models are on hold?

Any insights are appreciated.

Who knows what they’re doing in Croatia.

But what does seem to happen is that models seem to come out in cycles; that is, a whole bunch of one model hits the market, then a little while later that model dries up while another model spikes...

So be prepared to act when they do start to show up.

As to when? Consult the magic 8-ball...it'll be about as accurate as anything else.

That is about what I figured as well. Thanks for your feedback.

Yeah I been watching for the 3.8 compact. Missed out on some via grab a gun, but just made a different acquisition at the time.

I’m there are a handful of 3.8 non-compact out there. Otherwise have not seen one in a long time.

@BryMo My carry, as shown in my avatar, is the original XDM 3.8" Compact (9mm) - I highly recommend that Elite 3.8" Compact if you can find it. I do NOT like the price point of that one @StillLearning found at PSA is over $200 more than I paid in 2019 for the original XDM Compact. Everything is more these days though.

Was yours an elite OSP? Those do run a bit higher than the “classic”, and as I recall, they were going for blowout prices in 2019 to get ready for the Elite line.

Just judging from what you’re saying, I’d ballpark that PSA is asking in the $600 range for the elite right now?

Interesting. I just looked closer. That claims to be an OSP model compact. I don’t see that mode on the SA site. Only non-osp compact.

Dang it! I knew SA was going to come out with an OSP model of my pistol. Now I'm wondering if I should've waited. I'm definitely happy with the non-OSP model.
I am with you. I been holding off in general, and now that the osp is coming out it makes sense why the 3.8 is hard to find. That means the market should be flooded shortly with some osp models. Will have to watch the usual sites...

Hans no mine was not Elite or OSP. Yesterday I didn't see that link at PSA showing it as an OSP model either. I paid around $450 for the standard XDM Compact in mid 2019. I had paid just over $500 for my XDM 5.25 a year earlier, as it was on clearance for some reason at the local Academy, normally selling for $700.

For an OSP model with the milled slide, I think that price is pretty fair. If you remove the mag well flared peice, you can use the XDM Compact mags that allow 19 rounds versus 13 rounds. You just have to sacrifice the mag-well extension I think.
