HK-USA CC9 Redefines the Micro Compact Market

    Sigh. Button release, not paddle.

Shooting my Echelon and issue, video???

Concur. Some guns just don’t like some ammo. You found one fairly early on. 165 is a pretty unusual weight and a rather long bullet for 9mm. Really more to stay subsonic out of a 16” carbine, I’d bet. Most standard velocity 147’s will be subsonic out of a pistol; I’d give those a try.

Issue on heavy marks on cases from 1911 Operator

Sounds like your extractor just needed to wear in a bit; might’ve been a burr on it.

AOS Slide for 1911 .45 RONIN

1911’s aren’t “plug and play” like other designs; Glock, for instance. There’s usually a bit of fitting of the barrel to the bushing/slide, possibly fitting the slide to the frame… They’re saving themselves huge headaches by not offering the parts. That said…look for an aftermarket OR slide...

    LEM triggers...what are your thoughts?

Issue on heavy marks on cases from 1911 Operator

You could try tuning your extractor a bit (I think that’s what you meant by “extractor spring”? Springfield 1911’s don’t have an extractor spring, per se…). It’s pretty easy to do, either by building a jig (Google it; lots of easy options out there) or by just using the extractor tunnel and...

    LEM triggers...what are your thoughts?

Sig’s DAK is very similar to the LEM.

    LEM triggers...what are your thoughts?

Most people either love them or hate them. I’ve found the “light LEM”—that is an LEM that has some Match springs—in the full-size USP is pretty sweet. The regular LEM in one of P30SK’s? Meh. Not bad, but not ideal.

What are you doing right now??

I just got done being convinced by my wife that we should get another dog sooner rather than later. Not today, but soon.

Windage adjustments - Canik TP9 SF Elite

I’m gonna stop you before you adjust the sights. Shooting left is one of the most common problems due to having an improper grip and/or trigger press with right-handed shooters. I’d have someone else, who is a good shooter, give it a try. If it shoots fine for them…adjust what you are doing.

    Cool weather options

It was an old one that I’d worn for work that was pretty far gone. It was difficult to find a 6” square piece that wasn’t torn/worn through.

Potent Potables (aka What’s your poison?)

Got it at Trinity College in Dublin. The Book of Kells is a really fantastic piece of artwork, considering it’s 1200+ years old.

    Cool weather options

Yeah, I’ve never got that whole “change caliber for winter thing”. Most 9mm defensive ammo will go through 8-10 sheets of drywall…yet a puffy jacket will stop it? I remember shooting water jugs that a put a “Northwoods Tuxedo” on: a Carhartt-style insulated duck cotton jacket, a heavy hooded...

Potent Potables (aka What’s your poison?)

Was supposed to be out chasing roosters, but my buddy (and, more importantly, his dog!) had to cancel at the last minute. So…you might not be able to tell, but there’s a healthy slug of Woodford Reserve in this coffee. Wife’s making a big ol’ breakfast, too. I’ll be going hobbit second...

Is the .45’s Stopping Power a Myth?

I see your point. For me, personally? The juice isn’t worth the squeeze; that is, from all the evidence I’ve seen, the odds of it causing that extra damage are extremely low, and not worth the premium costs the fluted designs will incur over time (the initial proving of reliability and...
