I'm a man of my word

Nice pickup, I really enjoy mine. It’s taken a bit of a backseat now that I have a Staccato P, but I come back to it freequently. With about 1K through my P, and over 5K easily through my Prodigy, the slide is smoother AND with the EGW internals the trigger is actually nicer/cleaner break on...

    Finally got to shoot today

OK…glad I’m not the only one…lol. Normally, when a price too good to be true…is just that. These companies that charge $75 to $100 S&H for 500 to 1000 rounds is highway robbery…but hey, let ‘em try.

    Finally got to shoot today

.16 a round? I use ammoseek as well, the only rounds I‘ve found that cheap are usually 1 or 2 box limit, often steel and they more than make up for that on absurd S&H. Best price I’ve found that is good, clean reliable ammo is from ammunition planet, 124gr reloads. With shipping 1K of ammo is...

New Double Stack 1911 Offering From Kimber

Never been a Kimber fan…however, more competition in the market drives innovation and price point. Good for all of us.

    S&W Competitor

Didn’t know they made a 45 that looked like the competitor… it is aluminum frame? Stock mag is 17, 9mm.

17 capacity, unless restricted by local gov.

    S&W Competitor

Had one. It was ok. Put the overwatch kit and sear in, made it better. Bought a Canik Rival S 2 weeks later, better fit, feel, shooting… sold the SW Competitor to a good friend and he LOVES it. Probably put about 300 to 400 rounds through it, can’t say anything bad…great shooter, reliable and...

    Covid--- its no joke

Glad you’re doing better and best wishes for your mother as well. I had it a couple years ago… and this is just my personal experience. I’ve had worse colds. I was a little tired, a little achy, my knees hurt a little walking up the stairs. No fever, no trouble breathing, no other long term or...

    A positive Prodigy thread.

My stories mimic others here. Yep, I knew the risk buying it…turned out I was right. Zero cost, less than 10 Days later…flawless over 5K rounds since. EGW ignition and 17# mainspring in mine after 2500ish rounds. It is no Staccato, I recently purchased one and really, really love it. but the...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

I’m waiting to see that Girsan 2311 as well, shot show video said 999 price tag. Optic ready. I believe it will take the common 2011 mags, I hope so.

    Optic plate price

I was able to pick one up for my “wife’s” prodigy for a little less from Carolina Caliber… It was 99 plus S&H and tax… Picked Up a DPP plate. Anyone need/want an RMR/Holosun plate? LOL

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

Here’s what I’ll say about the Prodigy vs. a Staccato that I now own. If you can afford the Staccato, get it. Fit, finish, accuracy, quality of parts, it is better across the board. However… My Prodigy was my first 1911/2011 style pistol I ever owned, always been striker fired prior. It is an...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

All due respect RLB, the OP was September 1, 2022 and a SA contributor… LOL. But yes, I hear you… as it pertains to the question asked in the most recent posts in this thread… Just had to send a little Friday ribbing your way. True, Post 666 (yeah…that may be a sign) asked about it and said no...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

Frankly, I’m looking forward to the 2311 Girsan/EAA. At their price point…999 MSRP…even more enticing for an entry level DS type.

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

Yes. My advice, based on your questions and prequalifiers, as well as owning a Prodigy first then recently a Staccato P… get a Prodigy Commander (4.25” barrel). From what I’ve read, so take that as you may, the 5” seem to have more issues than the little brother. I got mine December, long story...

    1911 DS magwell

The only thing I can think of is take a sharpie where the overlap is, Dremel/grind until the sharpie is gone. But I gotta be honest, I’m not a competitive shooter (Probably gonna hit a few comps this year) and even if I was, don’t know if I’d ever get to the level where I could tell/need the...

    1911 DS magwell

Another Member of the Staccato Gen 2 on my Prodigy. Soft mallet, a few tap…all set. No grind, no file. I have large hands, I’m not a comp shooter, gamer, etc. I just like the positive feel at the base of my hand with a mag well.

And while you’re at it… mention Several other, lower price point pistols come with MANY plates included.

    Prodigy 5in w/HEX Dragonfly

Thom A14B. If you use the drop down it’ll tell you RMR and 407c footprint. But just an FYI… 407c and 507C both use them popular RMR footprint. Between RMR and DPP, they’re the most common used. https://store.springfield-armory.com/agency-optic-system-aos-mounting-plate-prodigy/
