    Ohio Constitutional Carry is Advancing

DeWine needs to carefully weigh his reelection chances before he vetoes ours. He's on very thin ice as it is.

    Ohio Constitutional Carry is Advancing

"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion of your walks." ~Thomas Jefferson, 1785 If all...

The Pistol That Brought Me Here

They're neat little guns. I have one, love it! If it seems a little smallish in your hand for $12 you can put on a Hogue rubber grip sleeve. It improves the grip for people with long fingers. My favorite striker fired gun.

    Ohio Constitutional Carry is Advancing

Two bills have been passed, one in the senate and one in the house. They are dragging their feet to agree on one or the other, if they decide to make even the smallest change it will ball up the works. Each side would have to re-approve the modified bill. It seems like they are trying to weasel...

    Understanding the Hellcat U-Dot Sights

In total darkness target identification would be a little iffy. If an attacker is within a few yards, putting the front post on center mass (of the inky silhouette) will get you a hit, I imagine. Then you find out it was your mother-in-law going to the head. ;)

    Understanding the Hellcat U-Dot Sights

Like JumpinJoe my dot is adjusted to lie on the top of the front post, dead center. I don't know about hitting tacks but I can hit a 3" orange target ball regularly at 25 yards. Not every shot, it's a wee pistol after all. I also did a check where I moved the gun off to one side til there was...

    adjusting Hellcat rear sight

When I got my new gun and was setting up the red dot, I noticed the front post was off center. Being crude and old fashioned, I got out my little mallet and a brass punch and gently pecked it to the right until it looked centered. I put a bit of blue loctite in front of the edge that would run...

Hex Wasp - Anyone’s randomly stop working?

At first the complaints about the sight going bad were rare. Testers all loved it. About last fall the failures started to increase. Something changed in the production of the sights. All SA has to do is get back to the Hex people and have them review the manufacturing process and parts...

Hex Wasp - Anyone’s randomly stop working?

I've had mine since August, it went dead then I fixed it somehow, and it is still working. It's been out to the range 3 or 4 times. It holds its zero so far. Original battery. I just checked it in honor of this thread.

    Cartridge of the Week

You know, I'm out of this place. No wonder the same 30 people write all the posts on here. Enjoy your circle jerk.

    Cartridge of the Week

I'd be happy to post a link to the report(s) I had read back some years ago but they don't seem to be on the net anymore. It is called the 'memory hole.' I remember the Obama administration ordering two billion rounds of .40 S&W ammo at one point. (For agencies that suddenly find the caliber...

    Cartridge of the Week

I'll probably catch some flak for this, but the FBI found out their female agents were a bit leery of the .40 because of its slightly higher recoil in their service pistols. Police, too. Many departments have a growing percentage of women among their ranks and most of them are quite recoil...

    Police refused restaurant’s service

Eateries generally like the cops to come in regularly. Robbers won't hit the place with them sitting there. I guess their 'bipoc' clientele felt uneasy. (I just found out what bipocs are.)

Does your edc have a wml?

I took a S&W SD40VE in trade a few years ago. I got to shooting it and decided it needed a trigger upgrade, a tritium night sight, a MP 40 rear sight and you guessed it, a light. If I wake up and grab the gun over a suspicious noise in here or outside it's nice not having to look for a...

Should You Carry Your Gun With an Empty Chamber?

Whatever I might write on this forum, good or bad, right or wrong, is not intended to try to change the thinking of any of our readers. It is merely to throw my 2 cents into the conversation. Maybe it will be helpful to someone or give them a different way to approach a subject that hadn't...

    Hellcat - new owner questions

Watching Hickok45 shooting belly guns 80 yards at his gong and getting hit after hit should teach us that all decent modern guns shoot better than we do. I was given an old Mossberg Chuckster .22mag rifle. I put two different rimfire scopes on trying to get it to shoot a decent group. Couldn't...

    Hellcat - new owner questions

Shooting pistols with iron sights at close range I just wear my reading glasses. If the sights are in focus it's ok for the target to be a tad blurry. The sight alignment is what counts. A cheap Hogue grip sleeve can make it easier for large hands to find a good grip that doesn't drop the...

    Win white box - Caution

I've moved on from most Winchester ammo for a while. Mostly because of irregular performance of their .22 mag ammo. I always had good results with their .45ACP Silvertips in my P90. I wonder if he round was actually +P or just a mistake of sorted brass. Still, that shouldn't be there.
