John Lott calls out USA Today on crime

Reminds me of the movie line “You can’t stand the truth!” Slanting the news has probably always been an issue, but I think it is worse now than ever before. Sad.

    Are Guns Bad Investments?

Thanks for the link, Mike. Everybody has an opinion, and so do I. I think the return on your investment in a gun is not in what you can sell it for years down the road, but rather in how much enjoyment you can have in shooting it and the added comfort you have in carrying it for self defense...

    Favorite Shotguns Drills and Skills

Good article, Talyn. Thank you. I have read about the push/pull shotgun technique, but have never tried it. Maybe one of these days I can. I would like to see how much difference it makes to my shoulder.

Wyatt Earp Was Right: Shot Placement Is Key

Not that I plan to change, but all the confusion about when a person can “show” their gun kind of makes a good case for open carry. :)

NEW: SMITH & WESSON JERRY MICULEK M327 WORLD RECORD REVOLVER

Just wondering how much money Jerry had to spend on ammo before he started seeing a return on his investment. 😊

Wyatt Earp Was Right: Shot Placement Is Key

I agree with what you posted, Shibadog. But if the prospect of having to defend myself against 3 or 4 (or more) thugs is likely, or longer distance shooting is likely to be involved, I leave the snubby home. Most of the time I am comfortable with having only 5 shots.

    What Does Tactical Actually Mean?

In this age of the internet (which I appreciate), I have observed a lot of folks who seem to believe “If I just had that gun, I would be as good as John Wick.” And this thought process seems to apply to about everything, including sun glasses, pants, etc. I think the marketing people have been...

    Range Trip Ruined

I guess I missed something here, which isn’t unusual for me. I probably would have gone on in and watched a while.

    New EDC

Welcome to the forum, Deathseed! Like PAGunGuy, I am different than most here. I am also frugal (some might say cheap!). I carry either pocket carry or appendix inside the waistband, and have for many years. I wear a Wrangler leather belt from Walmart. For me, the more flexible (thinner...

NEW: SMITH & WESSON JERRY MICULEK M327 WORLD RECORD REVOLVER

Thanks, Anni. I probably won’t buy one, but I did sign up for the drawing for a free one. It is a nice looking revolver!

    Expert Tips for Accurate Shooting

Thanks for the link, Mike. I thought there were some pretty good tidbits of information in the article. But (like SimonRL intimated) the article seemed to end kind of abruptly.

    Why I Carry A Gun

Good list, TestMule. Like Bella, I carry a gun for all the reasons the author states. It may seem old fashioned, but I have always felt men need to be prepared to protect the ones they love.

    Why I Love Pheasant Hunting

Thanks for the link, Mike, and nice article, Bridget. My first hunts were for pheasant over a German Shorthaired Pointer. Those were great times! That was a long time ago though.

Disparate Impact Thinking Is Destroying Our Civilization

Great article, Talyn. Thanks for the link. It is so sad to see the destruction of western civilization by the same lame ideas and people who have created the problem in the first place.

Harvesting the City: Top 20 Urban Forageables That Ensure You NEVER Starve in Town

Thanks for the link, Talyn. I have read many times about lost hikers, etc., starving to death in the middle of an abundance of wild growing foods. I understand why, but it is kind of a shame that we have become so separated from and ignorant of our natural environment.
