T-62 Tank — Cold War Soviet MBT Returns to Combat

    - a revolutionary smoothbore gun which couldn't depress far enough for the tank to get into a good hull down position (a feature, not a glitch for Soviet tanks). - the gun would go into loader's detent, that is, would elevate to lower the breach so the next round could be loaded. Theoretically...

someone, or all just got fired

So, this is like when I was a kid we went to the boat ramp and had to make sure that little plug you took out to drain water from the previous trip was put back in. Have I got that right?

    only if

So, see if I understand. Many makers are backing off the EV yet Caddy presses on. What, a lot of excess batteries?

    To Hell in a Handbasket

Speaking of more visibility of evil acts, there is no such thing as local news anymore. Even in our small market, we get "local" news for 30 minutes which is basically a mirror of the national news as a lead in to the national news for the following 30 minutes. Then another 30 minutes of local...

    well too damn bad

Those wineries were and always have been decent quality, but 1 of many in a sea of “same ol quality”… My Dad worked for a beer and wine distributor, mainly on the beer end of it. I also had a friend who was involved in a California winery. Both said the wine business was beyond the...

    anyone remember this soldier?

I was taught by some the best: SF, Rangers, Armor, Artillery who had multiple tours in VN and who were not hand wringers when it came to fighting a war. Yet, they wouldn't rely on "poo happens" when you took civilians and lined them up next to a ditch and let it rip. The Americal division was...

    anyone remember this soldier?

His company commander was Capt. Medina, I don't recall his battalion commander's name. The brigade adjutant (S-1) who wrote a memo to cover up the incident was a man by the name of Major Colin Powell. https://www.history.com/topics/vietnam-war/my-lai-massacre-1#colin-powell

Kat admits that what you see on the show is not how she really looks and has shown pictures to prove it. She's very different in real life. OTOH I'll take the Emily's any day as in Campagno and Austen.

    BIG load on a road

Actually diesel-electric so it used some fuel. Diesel-electrics are very quiet subs and in Cold War days patrolled the passages of the Baltic Sea and the North Sea to prevent any breakout by the Red Navy in those areas.

Deception? There is a manual for that

Well, there's a manual for everything for all the services except how to win in the post-Gulf War era.

Belleville Boot Releases New USMC Combat Boot

I have a pair of 10 year old Bellevilles with the vibram soles and they have an amazing level of endurance. After wearing them overseas and stateside I now wear them doing heavy work on the property and have gone through quite a lot of abuse but are still ticking. I've not heard of these new...

Your First Look at the 1,064-HP 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1!

Yup. The first year of the Dodge Viper (V-10), '94 I think, 800 were sold. Half ended up getting wrecked.

17 year old caused a train derailment he recorded it and posted it too.

If he was involved it's another example of the video/tik tok challenge sub culture. In schools, there are sometimes odd and damaging acts which are done to compete with "who broke the most desks" or "smashed the most towel dispensers" sort of thing. It's perverse and dangerous just to make a...

Military-Issue Handguns: The Journey of Automatics

I hate to keep saying this, but the 1911 was used beyond 1985. In the Gulf war we had a whole division of them.
